@EaglesScoutBlog: What teams are you hearing are in on Hughes?

Devon McCourty is already being discussed on another thread

Thanks for posting dawg

and for all the daily stuff too.
Hughes is
mrvax : 3/8/2015 8:57 am : link
listed as a 254 LB DE. That's sort of light for a Giants DE, no? He has had back to back 10 sack seasons. I haven't seen him play.
Thanks...Graziano Giants more focused on DL
Defenderdawg : 3/8/2015 9:02 am : link
@DanGrazianoESPN: From what I am told, Giants definitely interested in McCourty but may be more focused on the defensive line in free agency.

Osi was about 255-260.. Strahan was 255 the last two years of his career as well.
Blood man,

Wasn't it more than 2 years for Stray?
I'd love Hughes.

Never thought we'd be interested
different body types
JonC : 3/8/2015 9:18 am : link
Hughes is built like a LB. Strahan was a rarity.
I only watched a little of buffalo this year
ADeP7 : 3/8/2015 9:25 am : link
And while impressed with Hughes I couldn't get a read on him

Is he really good or just a product of being on a line with Mario Williams
Marcell dareus and Kyle Williams
I know his numbers are good 20 sacks past 2 seasons but that's 2-3 all pros he's playing next to
Clayborn would make more sense

Agreed. Body type must be taken into account as well as weight.
Graziano on Clayborn
Defenderdawg : 3/8/2015 9:38 am : link
@DanGrazianoESPN: On Adrian Clayborn: Yes, Giants checked in. My sense is it would have to be a low-level flyer on a former 1st rounder who's disappointed.

I think I'd pass on a "disapointment," who may do so again with the bigger contract
We also don't know if there will be a philosophical shift
Coach Mason : 3/8/2015 9:41 am : link
In the types of pass rushers they are willing to invest substantial contracts for. Guess we'll see in a few days.
with Hughes, the key point is cost
JonC : 3/8/2015 9:45 am : link
Speculation is as much as $10m per, doubtful NYG is in at that level.

You put him on a line with Jason Pierre Paul, Jonathan Hankins, Cullen Jenkins, and Damontre Moore with an aggressive D coordinator and good things are going to happen.
thats what im talkin bout
area junc : 3/8/2015 9:49 am : link
put the $$$ into the D-Line. Dont buy a bunch of DBs when your line stinks

Would much rather beef up the D-Line than throw a bunch of $$$ at McCourty or Rahim Moore

when u have a great front 7 it makes it much easier to play S

Herb Welch and Kenny Hill are no longer available. Right now we have Cooper Taylor, Nat Berhe, and Thomas Gordon under contract. Even if you're supremely comfortable with those three (and I can't imagine why you would be), we're still going to need one more safety.

So what's your plan? Or are you just going to keep posting "Herb Welch and Kenny Hill" every time UFA Safeties are brought up?

I think we try to land one of Hughes

or Jabaal Sheard.

I really thought that Graham was one of the top five players coming out in his draft that year. He got off to a bad start with a couple of injuries and was in a serious rotation with the Eagles. I think that he still has what it takes to be not only good, but really good if not dominant. He just needs the right team and I think was misused as a three four outside linebacker.
