His numbers over the last 4 years dwarf all of those guys, even the great McCourty.
My only issue is that he looked slow in space at times last year and whiffed on more tackles than I've ever seen from him. It's strange because 2013 was arguably his best season ever. But that's how it usually happens....right off the ledge.
They ignore when they stink and live on the years they were good, he needs to see how bad he really was, and I think free agency is going to show him. I don't see a big offer for this guy at all. The Giants overpaid for him in the first place, I liked him but he was never a great player.
Rolle , imho, is more times than not is always out of position
He's another guy y'all gonna miss when he's gone.whoever they get I guarantee isn't going to match his productivity, let alone the rest of what he brings to the table. This site has never liked him, and has being saying we should dumpo him for years, he's overpaid, blah blah blah, as he leads the team int ackles year in and year out. he shut up the idiots around here for one season cause he made the pro bowl, but the little birdies are right back to chirping.
Bottom line is there isn't a better more reliable FA safety on the market right now, except he is goign to be another FA we make an offer to and ultimately can't afford, like the other half dozen guys we've pursued so far and missed on, and then cry sour grapes afterwards. Fools.Your going to wind up with the same bargain basement shit we got last year, fans are gonna get all excited over halfassed signings ( cause that's all we could afford) and then act puzzled when most of them shit the bed.Like they did last year.
Whats apparent is the FO isn't committing to shit beyond this year, not with the HC, or the QB, or anyone they don't absolutely have to.Big housecleaning coming next year.
I personally think all the schmucks in this thread shitting on Rolle are a bunch of ingrates.
Wasn't that good this past year and there's no denying it. But it's far from a guarantee that we wind up better off at his position if he winds up elsewhere. It's actually probably more likely we don't.

You're the guy that went on a multi paragraph rant about 'fags', right?
about how we should get a hometown discount from this one or that one whilst being one of the singularly most disloyal fanbases in the NFL.You guys turn on people like dogs, and , well, Rolle himself put his numbers up, which I didn't need to see, already knew, but clearly show he has consistently outproduced everyone he is supposedly going to be replaced by, by a large margin.
As far as any threads I made in the past, be assured I find you every bit as disgusting as you think I am, if not moreso.
Enjoy your horse..
Yes last year was a down year but he's been a great contributor. This past year was the first year he was supposed to be playing his true position, but that was short lived when all the CBs went down. Hell I remember when he was playing LB for us a few years back.
Give him a decent d-line .. And add Spags to the mix. He's a great athlete and has several years left in the tank
I still liked Will Allen, when we let him go, but I got lucky, moved to Florida that year and had season tickets for the next 6 years he was with Miami and got to watch him play.
If you're callin out the Giants fan base or BBI posters,
because they don't agree with you regarding Rolle then I
don't know what to say to you. Quit being so extreme!

Well then don't paint all giants fans with that broad brush you're using.
dating back to his Cardinals days and was very happy when the Giants signed him. I was happy when they re-signed him. Overall, I think his leadership, consistency, and playmaking were assets to this D and team.
All that said, I have no problem with letting him walk now. Let him test the market. If he can get a decent offer elsewhere, let him. If not, bring him back cheap for 1 year. But, he is coming off a poor season by his standards. Each week he seemed to have a few plays where he was either out of position or missed a tackle. Both, are uncharacteristic of him. Given his age, it is not unfair to expect more of the same. I think this falls under the category of best to get rid of a guy a year too soon than a year too late.
Seriously, I didn't do the exercise of looking up games missed by players in past seasons, but Rolle shows up and plays every week. That's incredibly uncommon in the NFL and incredibly valuable. He's also versatile playing numerous rolls in the defensive backfield - other guys get hurt, he adjusts.
He's a team leader. Contributes in multiple ways. No reason to think he won't play and contribute at the NFL level again in 2015, 2016.
I think his tweet shows he'd still like to play for the Giants. But who knows, maybe he ends up playing for Fewell. Or in Dallas in 2015.
If you think Rolle didn't play well for 9 million last year...

OK, alright.Shouldn't have said everyone, or all, but above my first post 95% of the posters were dumping on Rolle, and not kindly either.Don't like seeing stuff along the lines of "you suck, see ya, don't let the door hit you in the ass" especially for a team leader like that.
that the Giants really believe Rolle skills are diminished and they want to have him back...for a bargain. I'm guessing that the offer the Giants made Rolle was probably insulting to him because of the fierce type of person he is.
The Giants believe they have NO decent safeties w/o Rolle and thinking he's not going to come around, they feel they have to get a veteran player. I agree.
Can't gamble and rely on Behre and Taylor. Stevie Brown is unthinkable as a starter.
At a reasonable price. Remember, he was under the curse of that ridiculous BBI award last year. That usually only lasts one season. I fully expect him to rebound next season.
I love Rolle. Id take him back. idk whos available that is better. Maybe Parker, idk about he guy from Denver and Mccourty is back in NE. I like Searcy but I take Rolle. Stop hating bc the guy has a below avg season.
Even if we sign Parker or Moore, I still don't feel comfortable with what we have at Safety. I know most of you don't agree with me, but I still think cutting Will Hill was a foolish decision, especially given the state of that position on this team going into this offseason.

You're right, most of us disagree with you
You don't want to be held hostage to Will Hill's talent

But again, I give Rolle a pass frankly, wouldn't mind Rolle back for another year with Spags if the terms are right.
Also, maybe we should just make Rolle a LB, 87 tackles? that says something there too. No linebackers.
%60 percent of the time it works all the time.
And it's not entirely inaccurate either.
Unless, of course they finally address the front seven. Them you could have Herb Welch and Kenny Hill back there.

I don't think he'll get nearly as much as he probably thinks he should. Free agency!
Name a 2013 DB.
2012, 2011.
