long and versatile. And 25.

Like it or not, the Giants clearly have a size preference when it comes to DEs. Maybe why they're not as high on the undersized pass rush prospects in this draft.
I liked him during his draft year
Deej : 3/10/2015 4:25 pm : link
but I'd only give up a 3rd or better if an extension was part of the deal. He's a UFA after this season, and he isnt cheap.

And bring the heat with guys he used to coach. This one would appear to be a Spags recommended move, if it happens.
Jordan is a legit stud LDE
Torrag : 3/10/2015 4:29 pm : link
25 years old but will cost a bundle to re-sign after this season. Hasn't missed a start in 4 seasons.

28 Sacks/162 tackles/5 forced fumbles/13 pass defenses over the last 3 seasons combined.

IMO he's worth our #40 pick.

Saints totally destroyed their cap and their window is closed so they have to rebuild. He's a decent DE but at a high salary (almost $7 million cap hit) and hits FA next season. He's played as a 3-4 DE in New Orleans but could be better suited in the 4-3
I'm trying
cokeduplt : 3/10/2015 4:31 pm : link
to not get excited about this but he would be a huge upgrade.

It would be a fantastic deal if we could trade him for a #3 and extend him so the $7MM cap hit is like a $4.5MM cap hit for this year as we'll have crazy cap room going forward
So does that mean
beatrixkiddo : 3/10/2015 4:35 pm : link
we could potentially get the Saints 1st rounder next year?
The Saints might as well trade Brees while he still has value
robbieballs2003 : 3/10/2015 4:36 pm : link
Teams like the Jets, Bills, Bucs, maybe Chicago, Washington, STL, Cleveland, etc might be interested.
This would be awesome if it happened.

my Saints fan friend says he was disappointing last year, but he should be a better fit in our 4-3.
.....
Micko : 3/10/2015 4:42 pm : link
Guys, if we could trade him for a #3 don't you think 1/2 the NFL would be involved in this trade? It's going to be something substantial if it were too happen.

7.5 sacks in 16 last year. Cant fetch too much.
Always liked Cam Jordan
Emil : 3/10/2015 4:46 pm : link
thought he was a good fit comming out of college. He reminded me of a Tuck type player. LDE with the ability to move inside to DT on passing downs. Saints are looking to cut salary, makes sense to me.
crazy idea
Andy in Boston : 3/10/2015 4:46 pm : link
Maybe Reuben Randle is part of this trade?
Just signed Dwayne Harris...another WR.
Makes sense, especially if Giants go WR in 1st round.

Right now the Saints would take anyone cheap. Only half kidding. Randle makes a little bit of sense, but I'm not so sure the Giants are willing to do that with Cruz being such a question mark. Too bad the Giants have a TE to trade to the Saints.
Jordan Rannan says unlikely

No thanks
Go Terps : 3/10/2015 5:01 pm : link
Good player, but a high draft pick for a possible one year rental? No thanks. Only really makes sense if they agree to a deal with him as part of the trade.
Low probability
Dang Man : 3/10/2015 5:03 pm : link
Jordan is a guy you can try to build a D around. My guess is the Giants called to inquire and were told they'd have depart with at least a second rounder this year, if not future picks in addition to that. The sharks smell blood in the water. I'm sure the Saints are fielding calls from several teams regarding different players.

to swap first-rounders with New Orleans? Cameron Jordan + #13 overall for #9 overall?

I have no opinion about Cameron's value. Just wondering what you think.

Yes. But no way NO would make that trade.

Mike B from JC : 3/10/2015 7:11 pm : link
Would be well worth the #40 pick. He would play the tuck role in the 4 aces package. He is 6-4 280 and quite capable of lining up at the dt position,in that package.
Jordan would be a huge pickup
chris r : 3/10/2015 10:02 pm : link
well worth a second round pick.

year deal?
Well, if you could negotiate a long term deal with him
yatqb : 3/11/2015 8:31 am : link
before the trade is completed he might be worth #40. There should be some nice players at 40 who are ready to contribute immediately...plenty of OGs, perhaps players like DE Preston Smith or DT Carl Davis, some good WRs, perhaps a MLB like McKinney, etc.
No word on this for a while
blueblood : 3/11/2015 8:46 am : link
this is most likely dead..
Without a long term deal
nyynyg : 3/11/2015 9:34 am : link
in place, I would not give any picks really. Nothing in the first four rounds which makes this a non starter in my mind. We are rebuilding. A one year rental does what for us exactly at the expense of some young player that we can build on.

Now if there is a long term/multi yr deal, then absolutely deal the 40th pick.
40th?
Glover : 3/13/2015 12:15 am : link
How about 9TH?
