If say Cooper falls to us he would be hard to pass on. So that would obviously make us deep at WR.
Leaving Randle as the most tradeable asset which would could deal for a draft pick or possibly an Olineman.
Just an option if Cooper falls to us. Trades don't happen often, but they do happen and seem to be happening more now then in the past. So this maybe something Giant management may want to consider. I think the Giants like him, but they don't love him either and would be willing to deal him.
Just my take.
No...
I'd bet my next 6 months salary that not a GM in the league trades a 3rd rounder for Rueben Randle straight up. And I like Randle, think he's still only scratching the surface, but in terms of trading you're really overvaluing him.
OBJ
Parker
Harris
Ogletree
Washington
as your WR's
Another team has Randle on the trading block, what would you pay??
I think drafting Cooper creates a matchup nightmare for defenses and it ensures that Cruz will not have push himself too hard in the early goings and is a great insurance policy if Beckham's hamstring acts up at all.
A 5th or 6th would be my guess.
Randle is about average for a 2nd round WR. But you only get him for 1 year in a trade, so unless he signs cheep, he is worth less. Also, every GM in the league assumes he picks better than average, so you always get less in draft picks than the player is worth. My guess is a 4th.
I think if I were trading for him I would give up a 4th or maybe a late 3rd, depending on how desperate I was.
The only reason he's not worth more is that is approaching FA.
People should go look at third round WR's and see the percentage of them that never have as much production as Randle already has. If he was under contract for 4-5 years he'd be worth at least a high second rounder.
He's not worth trading. Especially before the draft and even after as no one knows how Cruz will do.
Just a strange thought IMO
I just hope that the light finally went on for him last season. If he can carry that play over into '15, our offense just got significantly better.
Randle is cheap, knows the system, and hopefully, unlike recent players, plays lights out in a contract year....
I'm not sold on Cruz....in fact, I think, unless he shows real progress on his own, that he maybe should be PUP'd to start the season....
Not too many teams that would trade for a #3 receiver...
71 catches for 938 yards last year is no fluke.
With the 15th pick in 1st, there would still be a very good G/OT or possibly the S, Collins from Bama.
If the Giants go the latter route, they can pick the best OG available with their first 2nd rounder (#40). They could pick best available WR or ILB with the second 2nd rounder (43).
I know it's highly unlikely that this scenario plays out, but it would help the Giants get some young talent. There are still too many positions where an upgrade is needed.
Will RR do the same? who knows. He is in a much better system (for him) than KGs and is still very young.
This are things I haven't seen in Reuben Randal. I'd be making some calls to gauge interest, at least. I don't think he's getting a second contract with the Giants.
7 catches for 112 vs. San Fran
Randle gets made out to be a barely functional player, but it's not like he's never done anything of value or anything worth believing he can play in the league.

Not barely functional, barely reliable. One day it could be like the shit above or another day, previous system, INT most likely will result when a pass is thrown in his direction. Now the guy got benched for team rules. I am just hoping he doesn't follow Nicks contract year.
RRs tenure here is marked by inconsistency.
