What's Ruben Randle's trade value?

Geeman : 3/19/2015 5:30 pm
If say Cooper falls to us he would be hard to pass on. So that would obviously make us deep at WR.
Leaving Randle as the most tradeable asset which would could deal for a draft pick or possibly an Olineman.
Just an option if Cooper falls to us. Trades don't happen often, but they do happen and seem to be happening more now then in the past. So this maybe something Giant management may want to consider. I think the Giants like him, but they don't love him either and would be willing to deal him.
Just my take.

you are NEVER too deep at WR.

I think drafting Cooper creates a matchup nightmare for defenses and it ensures that Cruz will not have push himself too hard in the early goings and is a great insurance policy if Beckham's hamstring acts up at all.

Yes, and one thing you can count on moving forward are the increase in points scored to win games. Vertical game does that and how many times have seen ourselves down 14 points with no hope of catching up with our running game.
I think some are under valuing

Randle. A 6th rounder? He's not a bad player and has gotten better the last 2 seasons. He's fetch more than a 6th from a team that was desperate for WR help i'd think.

It doesn't matter though. The Giants have no reason to trade their 2nd WR.

Is ready for a breakout season, he really improved at the end of the season when Beckham was getting so much attention. I think that continues, if the Giants don't add a wideout in round 1, look for Randle to go 80-90 rec/1200-1300 yards Then his stock is way up, now is not the time to trade him. If we do add a wideout, we still need to see how Cruz mends, but if we did add a Cooper or Parker, then those stats go down a bit.

Agreed..your numbers may be a little high, with that said I can see a lot of 'BIG " plays coming his way this year. They also have no idea what is going to happen w/Cruz.

It's not that Randle is bad, but more that trades don't bring back great return for draft picks. Look at what Brandon Marshall went for (I know he had a big contract), or Percy Harvin.

Randle wouldn't really net more than a 6th, maybe a 5th if they're lucky. His value to the Giants is far higher.
Randle is worth a fourth on talent/potential...
nflsideline.com : 3/21/2015 9:42 am : link
...but the late for meetings makes him a fifth and the contract makes him a sixth at best. Similar annual numbers to Stills. Don't compare to Marshall who was a cap ditch. We need this guy right now. He is a good 3rd receiver in this league.
He's worth a 3/4 imo

You pretty much know what his floor is at this point (a weak #2/solid #3 WR) and he still has some ceiling above him being so young (he's still younger than a few draft prospects). He only has one year left on his deal, so there's a downside with the economics.

All that considered, if you're another GM, especially for a team in contrntion looking for an immediate contributor with some upside, you'd probably be willing to talk trade for him after the top 7 or 8 WRs are off the board (likely around round 3).

That said, I don't think he's worth trading unless we draft a WR early and get a mid-high 3 in return.
Randle finally starting player better once OBJ was here
PatersonPlank : 3/21/2015 11:44 am : link
OBJ took more of the focus. IMO opinion this means he is a #3 WR of so, someone who can't be "the guy". There are a lo tof these around the NFL today.
If a team is very interested

a 5th, otherwise 6th
why??
NYG4246 : 3/21/2015 1:39 pm : link
they need Randle. I'd extend him now on the cheap before trading him.
A great passing game requires a great WR trio ...
baadbill : 3/21/2015 2:57 pm : link
IMO Giants have to enter 2015 assuming Cruz is not part of any threesome. The odds of Cruz ever returning to be 100% of what he has been are overwhelmingly against.

That leaves Beckham, Randle and ?

Add a WR as the 9th pick of this draft and Randle is the biggest recipient. He would end up having a great, great year because defenses would be forced to essentially ignore him.

On the other hand, don't draft a WR and instead go with Beckham and Randle as the #1 and #2 receivers and the 3rd being less than what Randle is now - and the Giants passing game suddenly becomes much easier to cover (and in that scenario Randle returns to being a so-so receiver - in other words he just isn't talented enough to beat solid coverage - he needs to be playing against the 3rd and 4th defenders).

+1....bring us one of Cooper/White or Parker. All 3 are going to be excellent pro's and likely elevate the Giants to an elite passing offense. Come back with a plug and play OL at 40.
