I think the Kings are the only team out West that I would be worried about facing if we met again in the SC. So not only can we exact revenge for last year, but the Rangers can put a dent in their playoff hopes so we dont have to face them again this year.

I also dont harbor a lot of ill will against them from the SCF. Montreal is the team I loathe from last year -- bunch of bitches who cant deal with the fact that their dman took out Kreider's skates. Their coach and sadly Prust are the ringleaders there.

No team really petrifies me. I dont think we match up well against teams that skate and are good at being physical (NYI, LAK come to mind). And great goaltending can steal games in bunches -- so add MTL to the list (and downgrade NYI a bit).

As a big King fan that's watched a ton of games this year, it simply comes down to not being able to put the puck in the net. They had a 4-5 week stretch where they played poorly but it just seems like every goalie plays lights out against them. Dustin Brown especially.

They're not super talented. Not putting the puck in the net isnt a luck issue -- for an elite playoff team, they're never in the top 4 in Western standing points.

Fact is that there is a tradeoff when drafting. You can take skill, skating, heaviness, and effort/intangibles. The Kings pretty clearly are willing to sacrifice on skill when they draft to get guys better at the last 3 categories. Rangers right now are willing to sacrifice heaviness at the NHL level (without #1s it tough to gauge their drafting). Kings model is obviously working out for them -- 2 Cups proves that. But the "lack" of skill in the lower half of their roster I think explains why their possession isnt converting to as much scoring.

They're a bit plodding and their game is predicated on crashing the net and using their size. IM not impressed and I wasn't impressed last year. Throw tons of pucks to the net, interfere with the goaltender and teeter on the boarder of interference. Clean up junk. Rinse and repeat.
