But they would have said the same thing in probably 2007 and 2011. 2011 we had a bottom 1/3rd of the league defense and worst running game in the league and still got it done. I think they can have a nice year. its not all doom and gloom. If they held the cowboys on their last drive, didn't piss away the jags game and if jennings didn't trip over himself and fumble it would have been a 9-7 season
Nice interview. It was nice to hear how he feels about winning.
If the Giant can get from 6-10 to 10-6 or even 9-7, I would be more than satisfied. If we draft 4 or 5 players who have starter potential, I will be elated.
There is a saying that they teach in third grade, er... used to teach in third grade, "little strokes, fell great oaks."
I'm poo-pooing the fact that if Schwartz can't stay on the field he becomes part of the problem. He can start a run at a championship by staying healthy.
RE: Please take these player statements with a grain of salt.
if we draft a good OL with one of our first two picks. Right now John Jerry is a starter and, unless the other four play 16 games each, we're an injury away from Marshall Newhouse or the CFL kid, too. That's sobering.
Seriously, winning the SB should be the goal every year. However, let's get back to having a winning record and winning the NFC East and see where that takes us.
has shown he can play at a high level in the past. Just wonder if he is still driven to do that or looking for a soft landing and a media gig in retirement. We will see.
If he and Hankins are healthy for the season, it'll be very tough to run inside consistently against the Giants.
Overall, Schwartz said pretty much what a player has to say about this kind of thing. But I'd much rather hear that than "We'll be rebuilding for another year."
RE: I long for the days when the Giants didn't talk a lot, they just beat
your butt. This group seems to like to talk, talk, and talk, then not back it up.
What era did the Giants not talk a lot exactly? Like the 1960s? 70s?
Schwartz is likely [very] wrong, but players have to believe the best in their team's ability, especially before even OTAs start. They're not fans, media, analysts, scouts, etc.
TC has to get the most of these players....hopefully, we can avoid the injury bug, this OL will come together, and Donnell continues to grow this season(as I said before, if he becomes too good, we lose him).....
I hope Cruz is not rushed back, and PUP'd if needed....
As for the defense, once again, have to hope to avoid injuries......will the new guys be upgrades over last year? As for safetyX2, one of Spag's strengths, is tailoring his defense to his talent level....it took 3 games in Spag's first season, for this defense to get it....but unfortunately, he doesn't have the same quality of horses to start with....this defense, like the offense last year, will be a work in progress......the key to Spags' defense is pressure.....if he can somehow create it via confusion, or whatever means, and can get in the head of the opposing qb, where is that "pressure gonna come from", this defense has a shot.....somehow, someway, the safety position will be taken care of....I don't expect much at the beginning, and just hope that Spags can get these guys to buy into his system...
The first think he acknowledges is that everyone needs to stay healthy. He then says they have the talent to put up 28 points per game. He does not say they are going to win the Super Bowl, but that they have the talent to win the Super Bowl. A little optimism out of this group wouldn't hurt.
RE: Between jennings and his 'dominating' comments and now...
...schwartz and his SB talk these guys need to zip their lips and get healthy...then play well. Til then shut it.
You must not have watched and listened to the same video I did. No verbose predictions, didn't hear "we are the best team in the NFL" and he simply referenced potential! Give it a rest!

Hell, even I don't remember that one. I remember, "a hand in the bush is better than 2 birds."

The rest Prove it.
McAdoo's 2nd season and Spags return to an attack defense...
You be the judge.
Have you formally quit on this team for 2015? I can't keep track of all your wild guesses year to year...
