Still a very fast time and he has a very good WR body. Shows flashes but as inconsistent as it gets when it comes to catching the ball with his hands. He's a guy that you want to like but the more you watch, the less you like.
Have him graded out as a 5th rounder. Someone will take him earlier.
unrefined route running and drops at UCF. Likely a shaky prospect, but anytime someone flashes a time like that on the stopwatch, you can't help but take notice.
as Darius Heywood-Bey when he came out. Looks very similar to me though.
Similar in terms of straight line speed but DHB definitely a higher-touted prospect. It's strange though, I cruised through Perriman's highlight tape and it does not look like he plays at his timed speed. In multiple instances you can see a d-back gain on him from behind, which is not something you should be seeing in a sub 4.3-type player.

Well a different time and draft. If DHB came out this year he wouldn't be a 1st rounder IMO. Both are physical players with great speed, but both have route running issues and hands issues. I think you will get the same out of Perriman as you have seen with DHB whose career has 1 good year, 1 ok year and then pretty much not that good.
Anyone have a link to video of Perriman's play at UCF? Â
Breshad still has a lot of small issues that when rolled into one could become one big issue. He has long legs and getting in and out of his breaks right now is a problem. He has good hands, but there are games when you can see him struggle to catch the ball cleanly on some routes when coverage is tight and times, when he is uncertain in catching the low ball in full stride. His route running is not consistent and he is not as strong as needed when his opponents get physical with him on his routes. His work ethic is obviously good because his body seems to be his temple, but now the mental toughness, instincts and football intelligence must come up to the same level.
He gives him a 2nd round grade....

. I think you draft this kid in the second or third round and expect that after his first year in the NFL you will know for sure if he wants to be a number one receiver or a number two receiver. Either way, you’ll be selecting a pretty good receiver…as long as you don’t over- draft him and rush him through development, expecting too much too soon.
He's big and fast, that's for sure. His stride is long, which feeds into the questions about how well his sprint speed translates to football. I suppose most WR coaches would covet a specimen like Perriman; but he sure has a lot of question marks, if not outright red flags: hands, agility, route-running, work ethic. Even his pedigree cuts both ways, since his dad didn't do much for the team that drafted him.
He seems like the kind of gamble that only good teams can really afford to take. If it works, the rich get richer.

Just from his stats - # of TDs, % of tds among total receptions, yards per catch - I would imagine Perriman can catch the ball over the shoulder.

Boldin has much better hands... MUCH much better
If this was true, he'd be a top 10 pick.

Easily. IIRC, Boldin was slow coming out of college. 4.65 or so.

Jalen Strong the first rounder... Really you would like him better than a 4th or 5th rounder. I would like Cooper more than Perriman
