after the runner has broken through the line of scrimmage, but many only give a half-hearted effort once they've dispatched the tackler assigned to them. I like the way this guy chases the play all the way down the field. I also like the way he avoids blocking from behind when he's chasing the play. The Vikings will soon find out whether he has the quickness and technique to handle NFL caliber defensive ends.

I was in Spain when I happened to walk by the championship game of the European Football League (the German champion was in the game). The quality of play was not even at the level of the semi-pro leagues you see here. The game was played on a field that looked like it had been bombed. The players lined the field themselves. Half the players were Americans in their late 20s/30s who were living in Europe. This was their version of bar league softball. Game was played in front of <500 "fans" - mostly people like me who happened to walk by and stopped to watch.
