Guy beasted for 3-4 years here and helped us win a super bowl. Love him. Not every career can be 10 years. Nicks balled for NYG and he didn't steal any money either. When he was due to get paid his skill set went into the dumps. That's a bummer from his POV not ours.

I'll put my own spin on this... Giants who may have tarnished their legacy by leaving the way that they did but who I will forever be grateful for.

Plax - Was one of the key reasons why we didn't repeat. I also think that he hurt his leg prior to the Super Bowl by doing something stupid. The guy made a lot of big plays for us and I can't fault him for being dumb.

Parcells - It wasn't how he left but how he resurfaced on the Cowboys. Time does heal all wounds though as he was my favorite personality when he was coaching here, won our 1st two Super Bowls and at the end seemed like he screwed up and wanted to try to get back in.

Tiki - Don't like the way he left. Still seems like a jilted little girl. The guy was a very good football player though.

Belicheck - Can't stand the guy but he was a key part of those 2 Super Bowl runs. He still speaks in reverance to the Giant organization though.

I appreciated few Giants more than Armstead for playing like a champion every single week. He was never the biggest or fastest LB, but made every week a point of proving all those teams wrong for passing him over because of his size and knee.

End of the 4th quarter in GB, NFCC 2007 the two of them teamed up for an unbelievable effort to recover RW's fumble. If we don't recover that it's packer ball around the 50 and we probably don't have a SB since SB 25.

Brad Benson, Bill Neill, Mike Freide (just for that one game against Dallas), Raoul Allegre, Mickey Walker (one of the first special teams demons), Domenick Hixon, Jeff Rutledge (fake fg, SBXXV), Homer Jones (one game, in particular, when he destroyed the Iggles), and Tucker Fredrickson, for those fleeting moments that comprised his career.

that's a great call. there are a lot of guys on this thread who were more sustainable contributors as opposed to guys who unexpectedly made huge plays in big games, and pascoe's td vs sf was one of them.

Yep.

Really every player during the 60's & 70's awful run that gave some joy to the diehard fan should make the list because of their individual efforts and what they meant to us fans.

Then there would plenty of game hero's that could make the list.

But the first name that came to mind who didn't have a long celebrated career with the Giants but yet embraced being and embodied being a NY Giant as much if not more than any other player I have watched put on the uniform was Rob Carpenter. He brought something special to the team and was no small part in there first return to the playoffs in almost twenty seasons. IMO he was an important figure in Giants history and was as easy to root for any player. He also gave one of my favorite quotes from a player when reflecting on what being a Giant meant to him he said that being traded to the NY Giants was the third best moment of his life after only his wedding day and the birth of his children.

If I had to select one player that would be a perfect example of what this thread is asking it would be him.
