shouldn't expect a coach to win a damn tournament game in 5 years? Look around college basketball, why should St. John's settle for shit? They aren't a top program but there's no reason they can't contend for a tournament berth every year and make a run every few years.
like VCU, Wichita, Northern Iowa regularly winning in the tournament. You have Providence winning Big East titles and going to the tournament regularly. Xavier is in the tournament and competing nearly every year. Why should St. John's not expect to be Xavier?
How bout a coach who actually fills out a fucking full team and puts in the work recruiting? Lavin wanted to be UK, his expectations were way too high. Trying to get all top 50 kids and completely neglecting to get the kids that help the team be competitive year after year.
Was tired of all the ineligible kids, transfers, and morons like Jordan and Obekpa who dont do anything positive for the school with all the shit they caused.

They re-vamped everything a couple of years ago. I am alum I get the updates.
nice townhouses on campus that the players live in now. Not as good as the old arrangement but the places they are living in are not dorms. Not on Kentucky or Kansas level by any means but they are more than fine, and their fieldhouse built about 10 years ago is a real nice facility.
The school proposed a smaller increase, with incentives. That's when they started talking about buyouts as opposed to extension.

I've rooted for St Johns since I got to meet Coach Carnesecca. He was on his Nets sabbatical at the time. He was such a nice man I never forgot it. It would be nice to have a basketball team in NY that was worth watching on some level.

Freaking out of the possibility of ballyhooed recruits bolting if the coach is fired is one of the idiot mistakes Craig Littlepage has made with Mike London. After he managed to get two top 10 recruits after the 2-10 disaster in 2013, Littlepage was afraid to fire London because he felt that Blanding and Brown would renounce their LOIs. So what happened? Well, Quin Blanding is an awesome safety as advertised, but the team is still going nowhere but down the toilet under London.

He may not recruit like Bobby (although if you have a system and an assistant to get you in the door with kids, that is more than enough), he gets the edge in the X's and O's.
Who knows, maybe his dad will throw a bone to his son and allow a St. Anthony kid to come to SJU.
