Which quarterback will be better in 2015?
A couple of Eli haters at NFL.com I love how they make excuses for Rivers for last year. No one has done that for Eli that last few years when he's been playing without an OL.
But, Eli also gets a lot of love.
Eli Manning vs. Philip Rivers: - (
New Window )
Anyways, I actually think Rivers will play out of his mind this year and then hit FA looking for the mega deal somewhere else.
Eli will put up similar numbers by the end of the year and people around the league will say he is overrated.

And Giants go on to win the Superbowl. The end.
Eli - two rings
Rivers - zero rings
This is not a debate.
Nah, his best shot was 07/08. If his knee wasn't jacked up in the championship versus the Pats, I think SD wins that game.
Roman Fucking Oben, dudes!!!! You really can't make this shit up....
Eli - two rings
Rivers - zero rings

Absolutely, why this is even up for discussion when Rivers arguably had better talent for much of their careers, and yet never won a thing
Gameday: Eli > Rivers
Is the question actually who will have better stats in 2015? If so, Eli may surpass Rivers for a change because of the quicker offense and Beckham. If this was still Gilbride's offense, then I'd guess Rivers again.
To any other QB playing today this would be the defining moment of their career. Funny thing with Eli is he has a second championship winning final drive. Granted this time a FG would have done the job, but he has done the greatest feat a QB can accomplish twice. This is why anyone who claims that someone Eli road the coattails of the defense (a silly notion), or somehow won a fluke title, is wrong. Eli has stared down the best and won, more than once. Few, if any, of his contemporaries can say that.
The idea that Rivers would swap in and have done the same is ridiculous. The above means that Eli takes a second seat to none of his peers playing today. His accomplishments simply beat theirs. Rivers is a nice QB, and it is interesting how all of the big three from '04 have had great careers, but Rivers is no Eli.
Eli is THE perfect athlete for NY.
As far as the bonehead plays I am of the opinion that is blown way out of proportion. Eli is a gunslinger. He always thinks he can make the throw. He abhors taking a sack. Now, should he temper this a bit, probably, but it is who he is.
This "flaw" is also his greatest strength. The Tyree play, certanly Manningham play do not happen without this mentality.
Guy is also perhaps the toughtest QB in the league. Let me know when big bro , Rodgers, Rivers or damn near anyone else in the league takes a beating like he did in the '11 conference title game. Eli aired it out 50 plus times in that game and got pounded. He kept coming back for more. He is like a weeble-wobble, you can hit him but he will not stay down. In fact that game would likely be almost all QB's signature moment, for Eli it was another day at the office.
Finally for me it is about the great moments. The victories and high moments are a main reason why I watch and a sports "hero", for lack of a better word, is someone who comes through when the chips are down. Eli is the king of that and he has very little competition in that regard. I personally could care less about some QB hanging six TD's on a hapless Raider team in week 10. I also could give a rat's ass about passer rating or leading the league in a statistical category. It is the big moments, the immortal accomplishments, that matter.
Eli has the career performance an consistency to back up his big moments.
Those guys have their opinions. I don't agree with them. OK. Move on.
If it makes you feel any better notice that the two guys that were former NFL GMs both selected Eli. Who the hell are the other guys? A bunch of schmoes.
You would think so, but reading some of those things by the guys who work for NFL.com and you would think Eli is the worst QB of the bunch.
I am thinking we got the better deal? .... just sayin'
