First time in the history of the Warriors that they've won 60 in a season. They're at 60-13 now, and a 67 or 68 win season in that Western Conference would be the most impressive regular season at least the first Shaq-Kobe Lakers championship (2000) and the Jordan Bulls. It'll be really fascinating to see Curry and company handle the expectations of being title favorites instead of a plucky underdog that shoots a lot of threes. It is completely different being the hunted in the NBA and other teams are going to give them their best shot.
They've only lost twice at Oracle Arena all season (to San Antonio and Chicago in OT). Although they're nearly invincible at Oracle they might want the Spurs on the other side of the bracket at 6 or 7 instead of moving up to 5 so other teams have 2 chances to knock them out since San Antonio is not nearly as affected by a wild road crowd as some of the other teams in the West.
Watch Okafor pass out of the double teams today. How many times did Towns get double teamed last night? If Notre Dame single covered Okafor he would of been 27-28. His offense is far more superior than Towns.

than Okafor. And no thanks on WCS. He had Pat Connaughton on him all game and was a complete non-factor offensively. He has zero skill offensively.

Okafor turned the ball over 3 times passing out of double teams last night.

and 4 turnovers. He also had as many assists against Utah as I did sitting on my couch. But yeah, watch him pass out of the double teams! Who cares that he couldn't do it for shit against Utah. Watch him tonight!
He's not a bad passer, but Towns is better imo.
He had a bad game. I'll be happy with either one . Okafor offense and passing reminds me of Tim Duncan even his missed free throws down the stretch.
For starters, every single player on their roster is playing better than they were last season, with the possible exception of David Lee. And I imagine he'd be playing better if he were playing regular minutes. The mere fact that Kerr -- as a first year coach no less -- took the risk of sticking with Draymond Green over Lee and starting Barnes over Iguodala is telling in itself, and it's just among all the buttons he's pressed so far that have worked.
Their out-of-bounds plays are awesome and they're blowing teams apart in the third quarter routinely -- almost without fail, really. That suggests they routinely make effective adjustments. The players love and trust him, he's kept things loose yet hasn't sacrificed accountability, he listens to them, he can give them not-so-great news about minutes but with a palatable delivery.
He's gotta be coach of the year.
This is one of the all-time great regular season teams. They finish this off and they go down as an all-time team.
I love Harden and what Westbrook has done the last couple of months has been mind-boggling... but Steph Curry is the MVP. He's a special player.
Don't look now but the Spurs are peaking at the right time though. Definitely the team with the best shot at knocking off the Warriors imo.
And Cleveland has been dominant since LeBron came back. They're definitely a legit title contender.
Lovin' every minute of it!.

Uh, they did make the playoffs last season.
LeBron is LeBron
Curry is the cornerstone of a historic team
Harden's got the best one-man-carryjob argument this year
Westbrook has the most eye-popping numbers and style
Anthony Davis is coming though, amazing how he's not really in the mix this year
Curry should get it though imo. He's one of the all-time great Offensive guards we've ever seen. His shooting/ball-handling/passing combination is just unreal.

where this team has come from. I moved out here in 1986 ...and this organization flirted with success but, never really had a shot (Sleepy Floyd era ... Chris Mullin/Tim Hardaway era). They didn't even make the play-offs last year. How did this happen?

Why do you have to get facts in the way of a good argument?
Have we even seen Curry's peak yet? There's no logical reason to think we have, since he's improved at least one part of his game every year. This season, his assist-to-turnover ratio is probably better (haven't actually looked it up) and his defensive is substantially better.
The other thing that speaks to Kerr's coaching is the staff he's assembled. Jackson's ego prevented him from doing what Kerr has done, which is to assemble a staff that has addressed nearly all of the Warriors' weaknesses. Their turnovers are down, they're suddenly no longer getting injured at a Giants-like pace, they're not losing game they should win, etc. The only thing he hasn't cured is their weird inability to get calls -- they're always shooting less free throws than their opponent. But that'll come I'm sure.
I was very high on the Warriors entering the year. Thought they had the highest ceiling in the league. Even said so in our NBA season thread at a time when everyone was on the Clippers bandwagon (pats self on back).
Main reason I thought that?
Last year the Warriors ranked DEAD LAST in passes per game by a large margin. When I saw that stat I was just shocked. That was reason enough for a coaching change. Even with the abysmal passing, the Warriors offense was 12th in ORtg last year to go with a Top 5 D.
I knew this offense had another level to it this year if they could just pass the ball. This year they rank 8th in passes per game and have a Top 3 Offense to show for it.
And for all the love Curry, Klay, and Draymond get... Andrew Bogut is such a great piece on that team. Really is a shame he's so injury prone but he makes a huge impact when healthy.

I also have to tip my hat to Barnes, who was so poorly used last year that it left many (including myself) wondering if he was simply not a good player, or at least not a good fit on the Warriors' roster. Jackson rarely had him playing with any of the starters (I recently read that the starting lineup they used this season NEVER was on the floor together last season!), and all too often he'd simply camp out in the corner and stand there, waiting for the ball so he could go one-and-one against someone.
I wouldn't bet against him being a much better player next season. Kerr just seems like he's got a magic touch with player development.
I was pretty close to giving up on him finally. But then somehow out of nowhere he becomes a 43% 3pt shooter this year. That shooting to go with his athleticism and size makes him another valuable piece on that team.
It's just been a perfect storm for the Warriors this year, so far atleast.
I think the West is going to come down to a Warriors vs. Spurs series. I think the Spurs are the only WC team with a real shot to take a healthy Warriors squad down. Maybe the Clippers with a tiny chance but GS has so much more depth.
It's not all Kerr by any means, this is the NBA where player's matter more than any other league. But he's definitely made a big difference.
Spurs are starting to look dangerous just in time for the postseason.
