If you have actually analysed the Jets QB situation (meaning you do not have an irrational hatred for Geno or an irrational love for MM),
you come to the conclusion that the way the Jets are happiest is if MM is already gone or they have an offer for the pick, that they cannot refuse, already in hand.
What we cannot know is what the time-frame mandate for the new coaching/management staff is.
If it is win now, or else, MM is an unlikely pick. In the rush to replace Geno, people conveniently forget that MM is a textbook example of a developmental player unless he is selected by a team willing to revolutionize NFL offenses.
If the pressure to win now is somewhat more relaxed he becomes more likely if a team is absolutely sold on his development, they think they are selecting the next Aaron Rogers, for example.
I believe that the Jets are going to select a 3-4 OLB rusher type or a WR if they have a strong belief that the WR will be a superstar in the League. I do not believe that Gregory is necessarily off limits for this franchise.
My money is on the jets trading out with a team desperate for the pick.
You really never know what the Jets will do. With new GM and HC, it's anyone's guess. I'd imagine Smith has less trade value than Nassib right now.

Haven't seen Geno make anywhere close to all the throws.
no way the Jets pass on MAriotta if available.
Carl, it all depends upon what Tennessee is offered for the pick. There might be lots of teams willing to trade up for Mariota and Tennessee needs a LOT.

makes all the throws...to his team and the other team.
High-larious....
