This signing reminds me of Barrett Green. Green was a LB that the Giants signed in FA in 2004. The previous year Green had a strong season with the Lions. Green was an athletic linebacker and was about the same size as JT. They both went to West Virgina, also. I'm pretty sure Green only played one LB position, while JT can play all three. How well he can play all three remains to be seen, although if Posluszny didn't come back Thomas would probably be the starting MLB for Jacksonville.
Green didn't work out too well. Let's hope JT turns out to be a better signing.
He won't be an all pro but could be a solid B - B+ player on defense. You have a team of players who perform at that level consistently, do their jobs, and give their best effort - you will have a pretty good defense, maybe better.

I'm more concerned about these FA acquisitions staying off IR and having a shot at showing what the Giants think they can actually do..:)
didn't work out because he injured himself and never quite recovered
I agree, Barrett Green was not a bad LB at all, he just couldn't stay healthy. Unfortunately that seems to be an all to familiar scenario for the Giants, let's hope that trend changes this year!
Here is the sad part about the Giant LBer situation.....
They have basically sucked over the years....we bring in new guys, and yet we can't right away say they are head and shoulders above what we already had?
I have no idea what Thomas will do.... we have Spags back....he has been handed a different recipe, than the first go round......it will be interesting to see what kind of meal he will serve up this year.....
RE: This guy will fit in perfectly with the rich tradition...
He and Tyree can swap tips on the best places to hide weed in a Chevy.
I'm here all week, folks. Remember to tip your server.
...of mediocre LBers the Giants have trotted out there for the last several years.
Right on target with this guy.

You don't know much of anything about this guy..A few video clips?
