But WOW! They really slowed down the pace of the story.... normally they average around 2 books per episode. This one was 90 minutes long and only covered a little more than 1/2 a book.
I think they did it to purposely have season six be completely insane from the get go.
That storyline is at least half a season away, at best.
It was an OK episode, nothing more. I don't see why this episode needed 90 minutes.
So are Glenn and Dickhead gonna be buddies now?
I don't think Pete cleaned Carol's dish.
The Wolves are coming. Although I really thought they would be coming this episode. Now we look at 1-2 episodes next season for the Wolves, 1-2 for the next threat, 3-4 to introduce the next piece. I don't think Lucille is coming until late in Season 6. Hell, the season finale would not surprise me.
I didn't care for the ep as a whole because of some of the silly
All the show needs to do is not be fucking awful between the occasional good episode - its lows have been as cringeworthy as anything on TV. This last run of episodes (4-5) have been solid.

He has no idea of the context of seeing the leader's husband bleeding out and the abusive guy shot in the head.
I think the showing of the leader's husband bleeding out was to show that she changed over to Rick's way of doing things. Rick shooting the guy in the head showed that he is all about action. The time for talking is over.
Also Morgan, who earlier said that all life is precious, arrived just in tome to see Rick shoot the guy. This showed how much Rick has changed since Morgan first met him. I'm not so sure Morgan will like the "new" Rick.
the scene with him and Aaron in the car was really good. (Even if you knew something was gonna happen on "2"!) This episode had some moments, the opening was one of the best of the entire show, but for some reason it disappointed a little. I think it was because I expected all shit to break loose and it didnt. More my prob than the show's I guess.
The more i think about the episode the more annoyed I am
To be clear though, I have read beyond this point in the comics and reasonably know what is coming next.
They did not tease at all of what to expect for next season or even leave me wanting more. The end scene with Morgan was forced.
They foreshadowed all season long with the "W" zombies and "These people are weak!" being thrown around in damn near every episode, but there was no real payoff or even something that would show shit yeah they are too weak.
Moreover, the whole Pete thing was so stupid. Aside from accidentally slicing the dude's throat open, there was zero evidence of any wrong doing. The show has no problem pulling Noah's face apart but we didn't even see a single bruise on the guys wife or the kid nor did we see him really go after either of them. It just felt really forced.

in terms of the leaders husband (architect), why are the wall support posts on the outside of the fence?

Not so sure I agree, since Daryl is a bit of a trapper type, we didn't he see the obvious string of cans tying together those freight containers? Obvious as heck....

It also seemed like an awful lot of work to plunder a backpack.
it was a necessary change in pace to just having random zombie attacks with mo real meaning. If people want a higher quality show then they should in turn enjoy a scaled back pace with more attention to human turmoil, which is the entire point of the show.
It will work for some people and other won't like it. But i don't think its even debatable how much better a show it is compared to last season.

and I understand that they need to create a situation, but damn can zombies in trailers move quick. it's a constant on the show: zombies move slow, but then at opportune times they're lightning quick to suddenly surround the characters.
And, how does a single walker manage to take down a human this long after the apocalypse? (Gabriel comes upon the carnage).
Rick wanted to kill Pete, and wasn't going to pass up the opportunity, but is Deanna really in a rational state of mind to make the kill order while her husband is lying on the ground gurgling out his last breath?
Gabriel locked his parishioners out of the church and didn't let them in and they died. The guilt is eating him up. He watched the group slaughter the last of the terminal gang in the church, brutally. They had amputated and eaten Sasha's boyfriend's leg in front of him. The way they slaughtered the termites in the church freaked him out. But he wants to die because he's so guilt ridden over locking his peeps out when it all went down. They painted "you'll burn in hell" on the outside of the church.
Glen didn't kill the jerk because he is still a good guy and merciful. Maybe too much? Tbd.
The wolves had remote control stereos in the back of the trucks. They'd play music loud to lure zombies back in the trucks to reset the trap. Zombies love a rave.
I haven't read all of them, but some are dead that are still alive in the comics, some are alive who were dead in the comics and some characters don't exist in the comics, like Sasha and Daryl.
RE: Also, to those that were asking about the comics

While the show is not exactly like the comics. It is a close as TV can get.
The characters that are on the show have replaced others from the comics.
IE: Sasha is just like Andrea from the comics, and Daryl is a Jesus clone.

Isn't Andrea, Andrea from the comics? I believe in the Comics Andrea is still alive or stayed alive longer and was romantically involved with Rick.
Honestly when I first watched the episode I wasnt' sure who Rick shot at the end. Cause they will need to shoot the husband too to prevent him from turning. After re-watching it clearly shows what direction he is shooting. That said, I'm still not sure who Deanna was talking about when she said "Do it". The drunk abuser or her husband?

That's a good point. He could have shot the husband in the head and not Peter. Deanna might want Peter for herself.

Re-watching he clearly turns his body away from Deanna and fires. Which would imply he shot Peter. Not sure if they can switch that up. I was just confused b/c my first thought when the husband got sliced was that someone needs to put a bullet in his head.

Yes. Andrea is Andrea. While she has become the best shooter of the group in the comic, her personality is nothing like Sasha.
Yes the characters are the same. Andrea is Andrea. What I said is that they have replaced the characters with others because in the comics their roles are still very important to the story line and are needed. Being dead im the show means that their has to be another character to pick up those parts. Sasha is Andrea and Daryl is basically Jesus.

But it doesn't...while the story arc is the same, the show writers are making enough changes from the comic books to make Sasha her own character without having to make her into an African American version of Andrea even with some similarities. You can try to force similarities in the way you look at the characters, but they are all independent of each other from the comic books to the AMC show.
You guys want to see the disparity from the comics to the TV show?
In the show Dale dies by a lone zombie and Andrea dies at the hands of the governor.
In the comic, Dale lives much longer, Bob doesn't exist, Dale is the one that loses his leg to the cannibals, and he has a really weird relationship with Andrea.
Good ending.
I think they did it to purposely have season six be completely insane from the get go.
It was really well done. Great episode.
I get the sense there really is no end game, I mean is the series pretty much following the comics (never read the comics).?

Carol is my favorite character now by a mile.
Game of Thrones next!
because magic.
He was watching Glenn, and I think he figured Glenn would see him climb out. He was trying to lead Glenn over the gates so he could kill him.
Hopefully, not too long.
Fear the Walking Dead promo - ( New Window )
Carol is my favorite character now by a mile.
There was enough stupid shit to keep the drinking game going while mixing in some solid action and character development.
If they lead into the whole Negan storyline for season 6, the internet/twitter/facebook will be on freaking fire if they liked this episode.
He may think "it's on" and Rick has gone full tilt Governor.

As long as Sasha is the next one to go. She has inherited Andrea's role as resident annoying broad...

The "W" is taking to long...
There were a bunch of "SLow" episodes this seasons. I still love the show but let's move it along. I dont read the comics but I am getting the itch...

Yeah, the Wolves seem like a silly bunch so far
Is it just the two dudes?

It's not following the comic books to a T but it's pretty close.

So don't read the comics if you don't want spoilers?
2) Why didn't Glenn kill the jerk?
3) How did the wolves get the zombies back in the truck?
-Also, I'm shocked Daryl couldn't tell the storage trucks were rigged.
