What about DT BJ Raji?

Pete from Woodstock : 3/30/2015 10:57 am
Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports that the team has offered defensive tackle B.J. Raji a one-year deal. Per Demovsky, the deal would pay Raji less than $2 million for the season.

Wouldn't this kid be a great pickup for 2MIL a year? and he's only 28

If the money is that similar,

no reason for him to leave GB. We would have to pay a lot more.

How about 2 years, 5 million?
I'd question how much he has left in the tank
JonC : 3/30/2015 11:07 am : link
as GB has questioned him in the past as well.

I would consider adding one more DT that I believe could push Kuhn off the roster, but unsure Raji is an answer.
Doubt it.

I'd imagine he wants to use this year to show that he is back from his injury. If he does end up settling for anywhere near $2 million I'm sure in his mind he plans to at least double that in 2016. And he could probably get that while staying in GB if he shows some old form.

Don't see it with Hankins, Jenkins, Bromley, and Ellis.

I honestly see Ellis starting as the run down tackle and the heavy rotation to help rush the passer as guys like Jenkins and Bromley come in, as well as using Ayers at rush DT.
It would be ideal if the current foursome
JonC : 3/30/2015 11:13 am : link
can handle the collective job, add one at some point in the draft to put in the pipeline to begin the process of backfilling Jenkins.
we have enough average DTs
djm : 3/30/2015 11:21 am : link
along with hammering Hankins ...we are probably ok at the position at worst. Raji hasn't been anything special for a couple of years now. Still have fond memories of the Giants OL reducing BJ to twinkie filling in that 2011 divisional playoff game.
Per Ian Rapoport...doesn't look like we'll get a shot at him.

#Packers are expected to bring back free agent DT BJ Raji on a one-year deal, source said. He missed last year after surgery on his bicep
He went to BC

I's surprised he doesn't have a 5 year deal from us already

Raji looks cooked

Tank is empty
Used up, better value in the draft!

Does anyone beside me see these 4 guys as a decent DT group? Then you try and draft another up & coming DT and send him to the practice squad.
I think Raji would benefit from playing DT

rather than the nose. His problem hasn't been production, but staying healthy. Sliding over might help him take a little less pounding. Worth a phone call, IMO.
It's official
RinR : 3/31/2015 8:39 am : link
he re-upped for one year with the Packers.
too old

Too bad, he's also a local guy, from Westwood, NJ.
