One of Mushnick's stupidest article's ever--about Melo/Clyde

manh george : 3/30/2015 7:01 pm
Once in a while I like Phil Mushnick--such as when he is beating up on an ESPN commentator.

Other times I just think he's a self-important idiot, such as when he calls the SI Swimsuit edition pornography.

Still others, like today, I find him somewhere south of despicable AND an idiot. He starts by asking:

Quote:
Watching an MSG Network tribute to Frazier on Saturday makes one wonder as to how a player known then for making everyone better would make out in today’s NBA.

Then he jumps to assuming that "today's NBA" means being on the same team as Melo--which, of course it doesn't.

Then he assumes that Clyde would fail, because "the coach" (not specified) would just force Clyde to give up the ball to Melo and gtf out of the way.

No mention of whom that coach might be. No mention of the possibility that, in order to win, Melo might play differently--or that Fisher/Jackson might insist that he do so. No mention as to whom the other players on the team might be.

Nope, Mushmouth just KNOWS that on any team with the two of them, Melo would doom Frazier's chances to succeed.

Quote:
The Knicks, in the age of James Dolan, would keep Anthony, dump Frazier. Just look at the stats — Melo averages 25!

And I thought Dolan had stopped micro-managing the Knicks. And that he might even admire Clyde.

Fuck Mushmouth. In every orifice he has, and drill a few new ones and fuck those, too.

would actually be an absolutely perfect fit next to Melo. I haven't read the article yet, but the initial premise seems completely wrong.
yikes

that was worse than I expected. Something I'd expect out of a random no-name blogger.

This guy is so stupid that he thinks he's insulting Carmelo, but what he's really doing is insulting Frazier.

Suggest the possibility of Clyde wearing a black uniform to him

I read it and my take was

the NBA is star drivien league with me first players where a guy like Clyde would be underapprecaited. He even points out Stupid A's matra of 'just get him the damn ball' which Phil points out is not the point of the Clydes games, which I take to mean its get the guy the ball who has the best chance of helping us score in a given situation as tis a team game.
that asid and having never seen walk play, Jason Kidd sotrt of undermines his argument. While a bit of a dick, he was not a me first player, a great point guard who was acknowledged for making his team better to the detriment to his own scoring average.

time Knicks fans quick question-

Why did Holzman step down in the first place for Reed? Was it weird when he then replaced a fired Reed?
Red stepped down because he was tired. He had had

I think you nailed it. Red was loyal to the organization.
But

wasn't it weird that his ex-player was canned and he replaced him?
Thanks
