Should feel like the first ever playoff game at citi. If he opens the game with a K, that roar will sound amazing. Bossing he can get a lot of two strike counts so the fans can have a great time tonight!!
Pumped life back into this fan base. I know it was also electric yesterday for Opening Day, but I feel that this is all stemming from Harvey. Very pumped to see him on the bump tonight.
So pumped. Wifey has relented and I'm off for a solo trip to citi. Plopped down a chunk of change for second row behind the dugout. Never would have done this last year. So true and unbelievable the magnitude of his impact on the franchise.
and you see a rejuvenate fan base that sees the same thing, it's a good feeling. The vibe at Citi Field from people I know who went said it was different. If Harvey is Harvet tonight, you watch and see something you are not used to seeing, big crowds at Citi Field
I was there yesterday, it was the most vibrant Citi Field has been in any year I've been there. The concourses were mobbed with people so if it looked like there were a few empty seats at points in the game, there were people everywhere.
We got there at 10:30 and the lot was FULL of tailgaters. Literally hundreds of Met fans out there hours before first pitch. Met colors everywhere. People were loud, they were excited. It was fun.
Coleman says his gut feel is Mejia never pitches for the Mets again. Talk about hypocrites if this is accurate... who pitched opening day again? Did I dream up Marlon Byrd signing here?

He probably never closes for them. But I'd be shocked if he never throws another pitch in a Mets uni. Whole team and organization are angry at him - and the whole story is More than just a failed piss test. It goes a drop deeper than just that. But never another pitch for the organization? I doubt that's the case.

What's the story behind "more than just a failed piss test"?
Sandy has already said the organization has turned a page and is moving on. He'll be back after the all-star break but I agree he will never close again.

I didn't HEAR Sandy's tone but it actually sounded pretty dismissive.
"“That’s not going to slow us down,” Sandy Alderson told the Daily News about losing Mejia for 80 games, as well as the playoffs should the Mets get to October (April 14). “I hope our bullpen is pitching so well there is not a spot for him. I hope he is not a factor.”"
Maybe he's just pumping up the guys he has but to me it reads pretty "angry". I was really just focusing on Ed Coleman's claim.
and Bobby Parnell are now active on the St. Lucie roster. I was under the impression Black was going to go straight to Vegas to pitch but I guess not yet. Both could conceivably be pitching in a game tonight.

but got roughed up against the Sox. I expect him to pitch better tonight. His ceiling is only a number 4 though.
Not many of you follow the Phils that is needed, but a typical dumb move Amaro was signing Revere to arbitration. He was an abomination in CF last year, but people were enamored with his BA with no power.
Well it only took one offseason to find his replacement in CF (a rule 5 pick who never played it before), now he has been dropped to 8th in the lineup.
Revere is such a useless layer outside of pinch running, yet we rush to sign him as if he is some valuable piece.
So different. Elevator attendant spontaneously offered how awesome the vibe was yesterday. Expects almost 40k tonight. Expectation and hope bouncing around the joint. This place could be amazing with just a little sustained success. What an aw some night. And this is before first pitch!!

I don't know any more than you do, just guessing there is more to it,that's all.
So why does your post state it as if you do? You blatantly said "Whole team and organization are angry at him - and the whole story is More than just a failed piss test. It goes a drop deeper than just that." .. those were your words. I don't see any "maybe" in there or anything to suggest you're just guessing.
but more because they haven't liked his behavior in the past (they've called him selfish before) and view this as more of that. Even so I'd be shocked if they just got rid of him outright for a bag of balls. Worst case he's a nice luxury to have to save some innings on the arms of guys we will hopefully need for the postseason.
Well, that Utley HR was a little bit of a bummer.. Â
Quick. Someone tell the Front Office to look outside. They can start spending again. The fans are doing their part!!!
Ha! Good one, HH...

No that was the year we didn't sign back to back high picks. Buchanan and Damien DJ Magnifico.

Making fun of the Phillies is like making fun of an athlete in the special olympics. Its just not nice.
