Reminder: under "joint venture," jury can find #AaronHernandez guilty of murder w/o finding he pulled the trigger. Here comes the verdict

#AaronHernandez guilty of murder in 1st degree by extreme atrocity or cruelty. Victim Odin Lloyd was shot 6 times
I can't see how he would be found not guilty. The defense really chose a stupid defense trying to pin it on Hernandez' two friends claiming they were on LSD when there is no evidence or admittance that they were on it.

Massachusetts does not have the death penalty. #AaronHernandez will receive life in prison without possibility of parole.

This case was widely considered the one that Aaron Hernandez had a better chance of winning. Will next stand trial for 2012 double murder.
helped seal his fate...they had evidence putting him at the scene of the shooting, then his home security video showed him walking into his house holding a gun 10 minutes after the shooting made it a no brainer (and made the defense's weak claim that AH was there but not involved absurd)
RE: it's somewhat ironic that his own home security video

It seems all they had to do was prove he was at the scene for a guilty verdict ...

most people who commit murder of this type "no dissing me brah" aren't very intelligent.
good point. The thing is on live. He sent his wife to take out the trash, while the cleaning people were there. ???? doh. He had a gun on him on the tape. did the jury consider that it might not be the gun. They didn't care. Like I thought before the trial, the media influenced the verdict indirectly. He'll spend the rest of his life behind bars.
I hope the Pouncey twins are smarter than him and refrain from commenting. How about somebody takes responsibility for their actions for a change rather than blaming our justice system.
I wouldn't try the second case unless it's necessary

The gun on the tape was identified as the same gun that was used to kill Lloyd. His DNA was also on the shell casings that he foolishly left in the rental car that also matched the bullets found in Lloyd. This is a man that really thought he was untouchable because how else do you not erase your surveillance footage and not dispose of shell casings?
I'm just going by what the commentators are saying, it's live. He was pretentious and overconfident. He got his ass kicked in the Pats's lockerroom as a rookie because of his attitude. sad waste of a human life and a waste of talent.
FALL RIVER, Mass. Defense attorney Michael Fee had just spent the better part of a half-hour slapping the prosecution around via a forceful, impressive and at times even mocking opening statement in the murder trial of his client, former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez. [...]
Fee even attacked the most damning hurdle his client must clear: Hernandez's almost certain presence at the murder scene ... [...]
"Mere presence is not enough," Fee argued, essentially implying that Wallace did the killing. "In our system we cannot be convicted of a crime just because we hang with the wrong people or are in the wrong place at the wrong time."
Except moments later Judge E. Susan Garsh addressed the jury and pointed out that Fee wasn't accurate and, well, you sort of can be convicted for that under Massachusetts' "joint venture" law.
"The Commonwealth does not require proof that the defendant himself performed an act that caused Odin Lloyd's death to establish that the defendant is guilty of murder," Garsh said. "The Commonwealth requires two things, first the defendant knowingly participated in the commission of this crime and second, he did so with the intent required to commit the crime."
And that there may be the entire case against Aaron Hernandez.

#AaronHernandez still will stand trial for 2012 double driveby murder in Boston (about hour north of here). Trial date postponed from 5/28
Great, now all those poor jurors are as good as dead
absolutely! But this guy is a gangster. He was a thug at Florida, and got his ass kicked (as a Pats rookie) in the lockerroom. It's sad listening to Lloyd's family (victim witness statements)

Other way around, I never heard of Hernandez getting his ass kicked, but I did read about how as a rookie he threated to F-up Wes Welker because Welker wouldn't show him how to operate the film room equipment.
of the state that a trial provides more than a means to punish the guilty - there are families that have an interest in the closure the second trial could provide.
RE: 40 million dollars and he couldn't stay out of trouble.

That is true blapre74... 100 million probably wouldn't have had any effect on him either.
I was just saying that if I was prone to be tempted towards bad behavior - I would isolate my self completely - for at least the length of the contract. ; )
Jury reaches verdict in murder trial of former NFL star Aaron Hernandez

Jury has reached unanimous decisions on the three charges: murder (1st or 2nd degree), possession of .22 ammo, possession of .45 Glock
none, since he'll still be in jail awaiting his next murder trial.
He will not be released, he is awaiting trial on another Murder case..He will just be transferred to another jail...
Reminder: under "joint venture," jury can find #AaronHernandez guilty of murder w/o finding he pulled the trigger. Here comes the verdict
#AaronHernandez guilty of murder 1st degree
#AaronHernandez guilty of murder in 1st degree by extreme atrocity or cruelty. Victim Odin Lloyd was shot 6 times
#AaronHernandez GUILTY on all charges: 1st degree murder, possession of ammo, possession of Glock
Massachusetts does not have the death penalty. #AaronHernandez will receive life in prison without possibility of parole.
Jury is now being polled. The equivalent of a Hail Mary pass.
All jurors confirm that they agree with the verdict of guilty on all counts.
Seems like a waste of resources to pursue. I guess if Hernandez wins an appeal in this case you could revive it, but otherwise why bother?
This case was widely considered the one that Aaron Hernandez had a better chance of winning. Will next stand trial for 2012 double murder.
As @RogerCossack said, defense had to acknowledge he was at the scene of crime while arguing he didn't do it. Jury deliberated a week.
Bye bye, piece of sh!t.
It seems all they had to do was prove he was at the scene for a guilty verdict ...

IM CONFUSED ABOUT THE JUSTICE SYSTEM THESE DAYS !!!
Sentencing for Aaron Hernandez is coming promptly, presumably with victim impact statements. Verdict mandates life without parole.

And this is why Spike's tweet rings true.
Since when can money not get you out of trouble?
I'm disturbed by this turn of events.
What's happening to the country I know and love?
Fuckin' hippies.
