getting rid of the evidence. Her claim that she didn't know what was in the box that Hernandez instructed her to get rid of while he was being held for the murder of her sisters boyfriend is complete bullshit. Also she claimed that she doesn't remember the location of the dumpster in which she placed the box.
Couldn't imagine a worse psychopath

Cold blooded serial killer with no real appreciation for his incredible talents.

I doubt he lasts long in jail.

Jury speaking now. Didn't buy PCP defense, "we were all shocked" that #AaronHernandez attorney said he was there in closings

When asked if they thought black object #AaronHernandez was holding was a gun, juror responds: "Which time?"

helped seal his fate...they had evidence putting him at the scene of the shooting, then his home security video showed him walking into his house holding a gun 10 minutes after the shooting made it a no brainer (and made the defense's weak claim that AH was there but not involved absurd)

most people who commit murder of this type "no dissing me brah" aren't very intelligent.

Clams I suspect Hernandez still doesn't understand why executing someone for dissing him isn't considered justifiable under the law.

He had to protect his rep brah

Either that or perjury.

of the state that a trial provides more than a means to punish the guilty - there are families that have an interest in the closure the second trial could provide.

Exactly. For this reason alone, it's probably worth it to go forward with the other trial. You can't just ignore the other victims. I don't believe that's good for society. There's also the issue of adding another precedent with respect to procedure, sentencing, etc. and to just keep the system engaged.
Hernandez hangs himself in a lie to Kraft
nicky43 : 4/15/2015 12:37 pm : link
During the trial, Kraft said Hernandez proclaimed his innocence when they spoke in the weight room at Gillette Stadium, the team’s home base, two days after the murder. Hernandez also said he hoped the time of the killing would become public, since he was at a nightclub then, Kraft testified.

Prosecutors seized on the latter comment during closing arguments, asking how Hernandez would know when Lloyd was killed when the information had not been publicly released.

LOL! What an IDIOT!!!!!

Either that or perjury.

She was granted immunity to testify. Anything she said about "the box" or "the dumpster" would make her immune to prosecution for getting rid of evidence, I think. If it could be proved she lied on the stand she could be charged with perjury. If the prosecution had any such evidence I assume they would have already introduced it.

that seems odd. So Hernandez called 2 of his thug buddies to join him in driving Lloyd out to an industrial park at 3 am to what...give him noogies?

Seems like a waste of resources to pursue. I guess if Hernandez wins an appeal in this case you could revive it, but otherwise why bother? [/quote]

I think the families of the other two murder victims might have something to say about whether a trial would be a waste of time.

Also, to anyone that complains about waste of taxpayer money, unless you live in Mass don't sweat it. This is a state cast, not a federal one. Not a cent of your taxpayer money will be spent on that trial.

If he is found guilty of murder in the other case I assume the families of the deceased will file civil suits against Hernandez, if they haven't already. The Odin family has filed for $5 mil and this verdict would seem to assure their claim is validated. There may be very little of his wealth left over for his fiance. She may have to work to support her son.

I would keep that in my pocket in case he some how gets out on a technicality.

I'm pretty sure there is a right to a speedy trial, which would negate the possibility of filing this case away for years unless they need it. I think presenting a case to the Grand Jury years after you collected your last piece of evidence would make it clear the DA was not proceeding timely or in good faith.

The families of the victims in the other shooting deserve to have the guilty held accountable, even if he is already serving life without parole. The other trial can and should go forward.
what exactly would be the point
MookGiants : 4/15/2015 1:31 pm : link
of keeping a trial in your pocket, even if it was possible, which it is not. They can't just wait to prosecute "just in case". I still dont know why you would do it even if it was allowed.

they will have the other trial
bc4life : 4/15/2015 3:58 pm : link
what happens if there is a successful appeal in this case? even if he isn't totally exonerated - appeal could result in significantly reduced sentence.
surprised

there was no mention of CTE in his defense.
GUILTY!
Bramton1 : 4/15/2015 5:10 pm : link
Hernandez has not vowed that the judge or jury will eventually bow down before him...at least not yet.

The future of football is at stake!
Bramton1 : 4/15/2015 5:21 pm : link
So while Aaron Hernandez has been sentenced to life without parole, his sentence also triggers an automatic appeal to the Massachusetts Supreme Court. What happens if Hernandez claims his actions were caused by the effects of concussions while playing football? All you need is a court to agree, and you're looking at a potential ban on football in the state of Massachusetts.
I guess it's officail

Next up is another murder trial in which he is accused of killing two men and wounding another person near a Boston nightclub in July 2012.

Prosecutors have said Hernandez fatally shot Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado when he fired into their 2003 BMW. Another passenger was wounded and two others were uninjured.

Hernandez pleaded not guilty at his arraignment.

The families of de Abreu and Furtado filed civil suits against Hernandez, and a judge froze his $5 million in assets, pending the outcome of the double-murder trial. The freeze includes the disputed $3.3 million signing bonus payment Hernandez claims he is owed by the New England Patriots.

Hernandez is also being sued by a man who claims Hernandez shot him while they were in a limousine in Miami in February 2013.

if he killed those 2 people in July of 2012 that means he was 6 months removed from having played in the Super Bowl and he's doing crap like that?
He's a moron for several reasons
UConn4523 : 4/15/2015 9:48 pm : link
but it's not as simple as doing gang stuff. The guy has been linked to Latin gangs his whole life and when you are in that deep, exiting gracefully isn't really on the menu. He either A) enjoyed the power or B) was in too deep to walk away from.
Some people just aren't good at murder.

He is the dumbest of dumb fucks and i hope he rots. Fucking guy was a millionaire playing on a yearly super bowl contender and instead he brutally killed 3 people over nothing.
He is and always was a criminal...
EricJ : 4/15/2015 11:54 pm : link
who happened to be a good football player also. IMO, the NFL just delayed his trip to prison a bit. This guy was destined to be behind bars.
