Should be a very interesting test for the fellas tonight playing in front of what will undoubtedly be a pro-Mexico crowd resulting in basically an away game at home.
Lineups not out yet but figure we can get some chatter going well beforehand.
The US has never lost to Mexico while Klinsmann is the boss. They're 12-5-5 agains Mexico since 2000 (10-2-4 at home).
No Dempsey (injury) and no Altidore (suspension) tonight - Orozco out - Perry Kitchen replaces him. Also, Kyle Beckerman, Joe Corona, and Omar Gonzalez are all back on for this one - making their first appearances on the roster in 2015.
Yedlin - Alvarado - Besler - Shea
Ibarra - Mix - Green
Bradley
Zardes - Agudelo
By the way, met Zardes. Real nice guy.
What we need to do is find consistent outside mid play (players are either getting old, not good enough, or too young), and find a CB pairing.
I think most of the roster is essentially set for the Gold Cup.
PSG vs Barca
Porto vs Bayern
I hope that Shea hasn't passed Garza...I'll guess:
Rimando
Yedlin Alvarado Besler Garza (don't know why JK is so obsessed with having a left footed CB).
Nguyen Mix Bradley Corona
Zardes Agudelo (wouldn't shock me to see Wondo start)
Between Garza and Shea I actually feel pretty decent about our LB options for the first time in a long time.
Where is Harry Shipp? This dude needs to be the attacking midfielder in front of Bradley sooner rather than later.
Out of this squad, I want to see Nguyen as the guy sitting in front of Bradley. But we all know that JK thinks that Bradley's best position is sitting in front of a defensive center midfielder like Beckerman or Williams.
Rimando
Yedlin Gonzo Alvarado Garza
Mix Beckerman Bradley Corona
Zardes Morris
And that's being kind.
What a dick.
Sincerely,
a NYCFC season ticket holder.
