Killing a giraffe certainly isn't appealing to me in the least but it isn't murder.
I suggest that everyone who is so outraged regularly donate money to the conservation of these types of animals and maybe one day they wouldn't allow the hunting of them as a result.
I donate to Wildlife funds.
RE: RE: I'm not outraged by this, but it is fucking weird.
Beerfridge seemed to be saying that the problematic part to him, the weird part, is the picture afterwards. My point is that when people kill a giraffe, they tend to take a happy picture afterwards. That's because it is trophy hunting. Even this case. I think trophy hunting is weird; given the existence of trophy hunting I dont find the celebratory photo all that weird -- it (like taxidermy) are part and parcel of the decision to kill for sport.
What is your point?
I'm not saying that she's a lone psycho that takes smiling pictures. I'm saying I find trophy hunting in general to be fucking weird and that the customary picture is also weird. Not in the sense that it doesn't happen. But in the sense that I think it's weird to think it's a cool idea. "Yay! Here's me next to the thing I killed" Also, taxidermy where they make the thing you killed look kind of alive so you can put it in your house is weird. Fucking weird.

The preferred nomenclature is "population control". Us white people sure do like population controlling giraffes.
