Batman is a going to be moody Iron Man (smart rich guy with amazing robotic suit) during this franchise.
My worst fear. I guess I knew it was coming because how else are you going to make Batman look competent next to actual super-powered beings. I really hope they limit the Bat-Ironman suit in this Franchise.
I thought the Superman portion of that trailer was pretty good though, there's a lot with his story that can be done.
That aside, the movie looks forced to me. I don't know what it is, but DC just doesn't seem to be able to do the "suspend belief" superhero genre as well as Marvel does.
not sure how some of you are pulling such opinions from that teaser, it barely showed anything. And im sure batman wont be in that iron suit the whole time. Wasnt that scene rumored to be very early in the movie?
That said i dont see why DC is so determined to be so dark and "real". Nolan wanted it to be real and i guess with Batman it can kind of work, but now that you are going to have superman, aquaman, WW, flash, etc.. just throw real out the window.
I just spend $150 on the Arkham Knight Batmobile toy / model... and This is awful. Seems like DC is grasping at straws
They're trying to copycat what Marvel is doing. They saw that Avengers was a hit and have been hurriedly cobbling together movie plans ever since, even throwing Nolan money to keep his name involved despite his desire to move on to other things.

I just don't know why you would want to have your franchises two top stars go against one another..
as for Batmans voice... i mean the only reason why i think everyone is criticizing it is because its Ben Affleck doing it. And it seems like he is trying hard. I mean can anyone get the voice right. The guy tries to disguise his voice. He cant just talk like Bruce Wayne. Thats just me but whatever. Looks good
they will only go against each other for like half the...
DC really needs to come up with a hit cause the public perception of them is horrible right now. No matter what Marvel comes out with people say it will be great and i feel like no matter what DC comes out with people say it stinks. For instance i thought the ant man trailer was very underwhelming, but then i kept reading how everyone thought it was awesome. Then you have this trailer that basically shows nothing and people hate it.
Will I need to know anything about Star Wars to enjoy this new movie?
but the voice is always dicey. People mocked Bale's Batman voice through all 3 movies. It does sound a bit robotic to me, id like to think maybe its just cause he is in the iron suit, but i doubt it.

I'm kind of with you in that I thought Ant-Man is a weak idea, but I also thought nobody would be interested in Guardians of the Galaxy and that was a huge success. Somehow they've made even their little-known characters translate really well to successful movies.
I really like their movies. I get what your saying about GOTG but when the first trailer hit you knew that movie was going to be good and i didnt feel that way about the ant man trailer.
Marvel is doing. The problem with DC is that they laid ground work with Batman but then said nope, that ground work is done. They go the route of starting Superman over from the beginning but then adding in an existing Batman that nobody has ever seen yet. Add in the flaw that the existing Batman (new) is coming off the heels of one of a 3 movie run of the character with a different actor and an entirely different take on the world and those in it.
So now a Batman vs Superman movie is thrown out there with the intentions of bringing in Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman etc.. Throw in the bad guys of Doomsday and Lex Luthor and this movie is potentially a cluster of epic proportions.
Marvel started a franchise by introducing characters in their own settings with hints that others exist and with a connecting factor of Shield (mainly Samuel L Jackson but also Clark Gregg). There is no connecting factor here. The hope seems to be that people love Superhero movies and will just flock to see the main characters they have known and loved in other mediums, here in one big burst onto the screen.
The idea is a good one- if played out with a second Superman movie where Batman is slowly introduced in the background, on news reports, in the paper etc. But, to just throw these two together and hope that a great comic book story line will play out here even without the set up is really risking a lot.
DC's game plan reminds me of a flawed football coaches game plan. You look at what another team has done successfully and say we must do that as well. Then, without getting the players that fit that plan and without slowly transitioning to that new plan (new style), just throw it out there and expect the same results as the other team had achieved.
Marvel played their plan out very well and were willing to take modest successes to build a brand to the point that Avengers Age of Ultron will most likely SHATTER box office records.
DC could see their plan be the Titanic. Epic in nature and size and a disaster that ends their plans before they even really start moving.
I am not basing my opinion on that trailer. It is my opinion based on what I have seen them doing for this movie and the announcements of other movies including the Justice League movie later down the road.
RE: RE: Will I need to know anything about Star Wars to enjoy this new movie?
but i think its more about making good movies at this point then the plan. No reason to completely copy Marvel. So they have decided to go backwards and basically start with avengers and build from there. Is it a riskier plan, sure, but if they make good movies they will be fine. I meanWhy do we need to be introduced slowly to batman. Its batman, anyone who has even a tiny interest in seeing this movie knows who he is. They know his parents were killed, they know he is rich, etc.. Basically they are taking there two most popular characters and putting them in a movie together that will also introduce a bunch of other characters. The other characters are all rumored to have very small roles, which better be the case otherwise you are right and it will become a cluster.
As for GMEN, go watch all of the Star Wars films. You have 8 months and the originals are great (didn't care for RoTJ). Eipsodes 1-3 aren't good, but some of the story lines are as well as the action.
That said, if you just watch only this you should be fine. The world Abrams is creating is awesome.
That aside, the movie looks forced to me. I don't know what it is, but DC just doesn't seem to be able to do the "suspend belief" superhero genre as well as Marvel does.
Again, it just looks forced.
Agree, one of the many reasons why people are so up in arms about Snyder helping this project, is that you go from one director(Nolan), who has an excellent story and uses doesn't go crazy with the special affects, to Snyder, who's movies(and this trailer), looks to be all about special affects.

If you read The Dark Knight Returns and if you read that Snyder was basing a lot of this movie on that storyline you would've known this was the angle they were going for in this movie.
has been confirmed. Atom, Caity Lotz (original black canary), Professor Stein (older part of firestorm), Captain cold are all confirmed along with Arthur Darvill (Rory for Dr. Who Fans). It also sounds like the roster will change a lot from episode to episode although Atom, Stein, and Lotz seem like the core of the show.
Star Wars: Force Awakens Trailer #2 - ( New Window )
Batman V Superman - ( New Window )
I don't think HD will help, bud. I believe in trusting Nolan. Snyder? Not so much.

Chris, you know it's just homerism at it's finest lol.. wish they showed a little more bat-fleck
I'll wait for it to be free on TV and even then I probably won't watch it.
Disappointing
I hope this movie is good. I am a little wary.

Haha, not a chance I'll watch.
