everyone read The Dark Knight Returns or even better... watch the animated films on Netflix. It's a two part film and a huge part of the Batman-Superman storyline in this movie will be from that. To me, it's one of the best comic series ever written and I am praying to God that Snyder gets it right.

has been confirmed. Atom, Caity Lotz (original black canary), Professor Stein (older part of firestorm), Captain cold are all confirmed along with Arthur Darvill (Rory for Dr. Who Fans). It also sounds like the roster will change a lot from episode to episode although Atom, Stein, and Lotz seem like the core of the show.
My question is an Arrow spoiler for people who haven't seen the show so I have put it in white
I am still wondering how they're going to pull of Lotz being in the show. Have they mentioned that?

I did read it (many years ago), and I really liked it.Snyder may have borrowed a general theme, but I don't see a film adaption of it in that trailer.

The two biggest rumors is that she could just be a completely different character, which personally i think would be pretty dumb. The other is she will come back as the white canary. Im guessing they would use the lazarus pit for this. I mean it is the comic book world, nobody really dies.
Those are interesting theories. I can't imagine they'll make her another character, but with how the Arrow season is going to end with Thea being resurrected the resurrection of Canary seems more plausible.
I liked it a lot. As alluded to earlier in this thread, Dark Knight Returns plays heavily in this movie. When the movie was announced, they literally read a quote from the book. It's one of the best Batman stories ever. And this trailer has DKR written all over it. I am glad.
a middle-aged Bruce Wayne comes out of retirement, hooks up with a new Robin, takes on gangs in a dystopian Gotham, and ends up fighting (after the Joker) a Superman who's a pawn of the U.S. government.
You'll have to explain to me how you see the same story being told in that trailer, which strongly implies that Superman has become a controversial figure whose power and prestige has gone to his head. And isnt Lex Luthor in this movie?
doing animated movies, that's where the strength of their characters lie. They have talented, iconic voices for their characters, just make big screen animated movies for awhile until they can get their live-action house in order.
Superman is clearly being questioned for his activities in the trailer. Just like TDKR. Now Batman is the common man's answer to defeating the establishment. Did you even read the book! Because that was one of the main themes in it. And Batman bringing order to a world in chaos( ala Gotham thriving during a nuclear winter) makes sense. The one thing I was skeptical about was if this would be a true Man of Steel sequel. It looks like it with Batman as a part time foil. I like that idea and we haven't seen Lex Luther yet. So yeah, I'm excited to see this flick.
It's setting the tone for the movie. After what happened in MOS this needed to happen, the people's view on Superman after the events in Metropolis. You can definitely see the TDKR resemblance, except that it's Batman going after Superman and not the other way around. I get that some think that they're rushing this but they've been wanting to make this film for years even with Nolans Batman, from what I know and read they are introducing Affleck's Batman the right way, everyone knows Batman's origin already so there's no need to spend another hour or so on it, they'll be using flashbacks to tell his backstory. Lex Luthor's line was great, "Devils don't come from hell beneath us", already showing his hate for Superman but Alfred's voiceover was the best part of the trailer IMO.
Oh, and not everyone will love the bat-voice because nobody can top Conroy's voice!

Not as silly as Evans has done a ton of other stuff. Also I e tried to forget those horrific Fantatistic 4 movies were made.
