Some of these guys go against the grain just to make waves... However, I really do value Mayock's insight for the most part. Particularly at the combine and during the draft itself. Light years better than Kiper.
Being the "best" rated safety in this year's crop doesn't mean much
I don't think he'll get past Denver, but some have said they wouldn't be surprised if he falls to the second. I'm not a fan of Collins, but he'd be a great pick in the second round, considering that we need not one, but TWO starting safeties.
It's interesting because all along, people have been saying that Collins is far and away the best safety prospect. No one was even a close second
to really talk about any of them in detail. But I do know the safety situation scares the hell out of me. It is by far the weakest position on the team. A second year guy and a 3rd year man whose first two seasons, which primarily consisted of ST play, ended with him being placed on IR. He's basically got as much experience as Berhe and can't be counted on to stay healthy, these injuries started in college and followed him to the NFL.
Aft this point, after being unable to reach an agreement with any UFAs I'm just hoping an adequate veteran becomes a cap casualty or loses his roster spot to a high draft pick sometime between the draft and training camp. Whoever that may be will be average at best but will still easily be the best on the roster. And while you can't reach out of need, I'm hoping they can find a safety in the draft, hopefully in the 2nd or 3rd. It's about as unsettled as you can get and anything can happen but it looks like the best case scenario for any 3 safety sets would be Currently Unsigned Veteran/Berhe/Taylor or Rookie To Be Named.
When I look at the current state of the position all I can think of is 2009...
If his ability was in line with how many times a minute he reminds us he played for the Giants he might be worth a damn. Lost a lot of credibility with me on his Pugh review. How can he play LT with short arms? "Angles". Not good.
Not sure why but if Behre & Cooper both can be healthy, I think they'll d well. Why? I think they are both good football players and they both need experience.
I think they will have a rough few games to sart but I trust Spags will help them to succeed. The big if to me concerns their health.
I put young players on a short leach. If Taylor gets injured again, it's time to cut bait and try an older veteran guy or a promising UDFA.
is getting slammed for this. Plenty of times guys drafted in the second round are better than guys drafted in the first. At least MM has the balls to call it ahead of time.

all of the draft pundits drive me nuts!! If they really knew what they were talking about..they would be working for a team. Mayock is particularly annoying on many levels..he should inhale once in a while. Just shut up!!
I would love to see how many Members on this

CBS Sports projects him to go in the 2nd or 3 rd. NFL draft profile projects him to go in the, 3rd or 4th. Obviously, mixed opinions.
