scoreless, so it wasn't performance related. Shitty for the Hoos, could end up having draft implications.
Because we haven't had enough injuries yet this year, right? This has gotten ludicrous.
Just got McCarthy back too. McDaniel noted Kirby's performance had declined a bit of late. Might be jumping to conclusions to assume it is TJS or something else season-ending, but the way this season has gone I almost expect it.

@ESPNNYYankees Suzyn just informed us that ARod's HR was the longest in MLB this season at 471 feet.
Yeah Rays announcers bitching saying their guy Souza hit a bomb in Toronto and it registered only 463. Said MLB is full of shyte.
Thought ARods was near 500 - almost straight away center and way up into the stands.
2 solo home runs Lifeless bunch we have here and striking out at an alarming rate. Gonzalez struck 10 guys on Tuesday Norris 7 Wednesday and Karns has 7 so far tonight.
It drives me absolutely crazy how many times Ellsbury and Gardner get on base and never try to steal a bag. It makes no freaking sense. This is an offensively challenged team, you'd think speed would be a factor in helping them score runs. But no. They continue to be content sitting back and waiting for the Chase Headleys of the world to hit a two run HR.
It's unacceptable and I wish somebody would ask Joe about it. There was a game last week that they actually DID steal a couple of bases, and Joe gushed in the post game about what a weapon speed is. Well? Wtf happened?
Arod stick it up the collective asses of Levine,Trost, Stein, etc. I am not a big Alex fan, but I like him alot better than those arrogant, money grubbing aholes!
One pitcher impressing folks is right-hander Brady Lail, with the Tampa Yankees. The 18-round pick from Utah throws 90-94 and has an impressive hook. The Yankees have more prospects now ...
ARod carrying the team after the past few years. I know it's only a few games but still. It's cool to see. Hopefully some others will start to heat up too.
and coming to the realization that I am just ideologically opposed to everything that this ownership seems to stand for, Arod is the one source of redeeming value for me.
He's a flawed character that was enabled by the very institutions that we support until it didn't fit their public narrative. Once the bottomline was jeopardized it was easy to make the always aloof and self-absorbed Arod a sacrificial lamb to the masses. Hell, we have fellow Yankee fans that despise him even though players such as Cano, Abreu, Melky (obvi), and others credit Alex as one of their best teammates. In my opinion the perspective of us fans really seems to be at odds with the reality of who Arod, the person, really is.
I fucking love that Arod is trolling MBL and the Yankee brass while leading the team to whatever wins they can scrounge up. I also love hearing how he's purchased suits for the rookies, shows up to optional activities due to his love of the game, and seems to be the ideal teammate. Baseball and the Yankees would seemingly love nothing more than for Arod to have ridden off into the sunset but yet he remains, is playing quality baseball without opening his mouth, and is one of the bright spots on the struggling flagship flagship of the entire sport. Classic, Arod.
I don't like what he did and I certainly don't gloss it over, but the notion that he should be turned into the face of steroid abuse - that his punishment should signal some sort of end of, or postscript to, the steroid era - strikes me as pretty ridiculous. They've turned him into a caricature. And certainly A-Rod's personal flaws - the narcissism, the desire to be loved, his attempt to turn himself into a Backstreet Boy - lend themselves to caricature. But at the end of the day there are plenty of confirmed users in MLB who aren't automatically associated with roids every time they step to the plate. Ortiz of course, and that attention whore O's fan should remember that they signed Nelson Cruz and traded for Everth Cabrera AFTER each was implicated in Biogenesis. You never would have known it from reading most media outlets, but A-Rod is and has long been a student of the game, capable of breaking the game down as well as just about anyone. That's not surprising, the man has lived and breathed baseball and little else since high school.
When A-Rod went to the minor leagues for rehab, the Twitter feeds of the prospects and the local beat writers had all measure of stories about his taking his time to mentor young hitters, in a couple instances with interventions more important than what the kids were getting from their coaches. The NY beat writers? Their only mention of it was A-Rod leaving after being pushed to the next minor league level without paying for the post-game spread, as is custom for rehabbing major leaguers. When Joba was rehabbing, the guys seemed to like him personally and they appreciated the food (aside from the top prospects most minor leaguers are really, really broke) but nobody was gushing about him giving them pointers. Same for Teix and the other guys.
Whatever suspicions are cast on his performance this year - not undeserved, don't get me wrong - if he play at a high level at his age and after his layoff it would be an incredible achievement.
Even if we pissed away both Judge and Severino, whom we hope to be MLB-ready in 2016, there are teams that can top that. At the MLB level, the only guys we had with trade value are Gardner, Betances and Greene, maybe Pineda. There are teams that can and likely would top our best offers.
Is a awful hitter. They should have gone after tulo.
As for Tulo, this team doesn't need more 30+ year old players who can't stay healthy that are under massive long term contracts. I'm not trying to have 37 year old tulo, when 27 year old tulo can't even stay on the field. This team needs to continue to get younger and rebuild, adding talent to the farm, not sign/acquire veterans leaving their prime. and give up young talent in addition for him no less.
Gregorious, no one should've expected a good hitter, average if lucky. The defense and baserunning blunders need to be cleaned. Luckily it's only 10 games in and he's only 25. Hopefully he improves and we see a special defender at ss, let's see.

That third strike was below the knees
Quote:
a knee high meatball.
That third strike was below the knees
No it wasn't, not even close to below the knees. Its not where the catcher catches it. It was closer to outside and it wasn't. No movement and 91 mph.
Because we haven't had enough injuries yet this year, right? This has gotten ludicrous.

Fairy Dust.
Yep. I'm fucking loving it, and i'm a met fan. The dude cannot hit enough home runs and drive in enough runs this season as far as i'm concerned.
It's unacceptable and I wish somebody would ask Joe about it. There was a game last week that they actually DID steal a couple of bases, and Joe gushed in the post game about what a weapon speed is. Well? Wtf happened?

Beginning to like Miller. Nasty crap comes out of that hand.
This guy is so dumb.
This guy is so dumb.
Don't be a sore loser. I'm sure he'll agree to blast you in the butt on the next homestand.

We got Greene back? I love do-overs.
