Joey "Bags" 7 Round Mock

Joe in CT : 4/17/2015 7:20 pm
We are now less then two weeks away from the draft all the last min jockeying in now in full swing. After hearing all the draft gurus weigh in as well as some our more informed BBI faithful I figured it was time I chimed in myself...

Round 1: trade with New Orleans, (9th pick 1350-1150 13th pick), N.O. gives us their 3rd round pick, 75th overall, we now have picks 74 and 75 in the 3rd round. With the 13th pick in the 1st round the NY Giants select Ereck Flowers, OT, Miami.

Round 2: 40th pick: Nelson Agholor, WR, USC.

Round 3: 74th pick: Ali Marpet, G, Hobart. (My hometown guy)
Round 3: 75th pick: Damarious Randall, FS, Ariz St.

Round 4: 108th pick: Xavier Cooper, DT, Wash St.

Round 5: 144th pick: Jeff Huerman, TE, Ohio St.

Round 6: 186th pick: Taiwan Jones, OLB, Mich St.

Round 7: 226th pick: Craig Mager, CB, Texas State
Round 7: 245th pick: Deion Barnes, DE, Penn St.

Alright, give me some honest feed back and I already know JonC will not be very happy with me passing on Peat but I was on his band wagon for awhile just sensing the brain trust might be leaning towards Flowers but what the heck do I know.
I would want....
Ed A. : 4/17/2015 7:58 pm : link
their second round pick. They have another first round pick #31.
good .....but
blapre74 : 4/17/2015 8:13 pm : link
MARPET is rising up, probably not available in round #3. I like Flowers, and the giants do too, from my reading, but they need a pass rusher more than a developmental tackle. Not a fan of Denzel Perryman?
one other thing....
blapre74 : 4/17/2015 8:15 pm : link
who was NO looking to trade up for? NO has cleaned house, and they need all their picks. I doubt NO trades up. More likely to trade down.
Trade seems better for saints.
est1986 : 4/17/2015 8:58 pm : link
But swap Nelson for Byron Jones and Flowers for Gregory
There are about...
est1986 : 4/17/2015 9:00 pm : link
8 blue chips this year and we pick 9th, the difference between 9th and 13th might be crucial depending on how the board falls draft night.

my thought as well.
I'd take that in a hearbeat Joe. I LOVE it, BUT please tell us what

New Orleans wanted/got if they traded up to 9 from 13.
P.S.

Taiwan Jones is an INSIDE LB, not an Outside LB. The player that he can best be compared to playing right no in the NFL is Brandon Spikes.

Agreed, I believe Jones can play both inside or outside but he might be better suited as a ILB. What I like about Taiwan is he has the kind of size Giants look to have. As far as what N.O. would trade up for, could be Parker or one of hybrid DE's which might not be there if they wait and sat until 13, if we do go OT and have interest in all 3 of Flowers/Peat/Collins almost certain one of the 3 will be on the board at 13th slot. I also feel if the Giants are good with Parker then take him at 9 and then go DE or maybe even Marpet in the 2nd.
lol, it's all good

I think Peat will be their highest rated OL. If they are able to trade down for Flowers, I'd be pumped.

Really would prefer a DE at #9, but it's a weak year for them. Swap a DE in at #40 (though I also like Agholor) and it's a solid effort.

I still think WR can be play at 9 if both White/Cooper is off the board and Giants really like Parker. Just have to see, but if not would love the trade down theory especially with N.O. as they have two 3rd picks this year, guess it all depends on who they are targeting. I totally agree at 40, if either OO is on the board or Preston Smith then I can see them bypass WR and go for a quality DE. Should be interesting how the first two rounds play out.
