If these were rate my fantasy football team threads there would be more opposition. At least there's money to be won in fantasy football. Mock drafts are completely useless.

In that most people have never seen the dudes they're talking about play. That's why I love BBI draft selection threads where people are ripping a 3rd rounder they heard of for the first time. Hey, most of us have lives. It doesn't revolve around football. I take college football analyst's opinions seriously. On BBI, that's KWALL & Sy56. Average Joe? Not really.

They are MVPs this time of the year.

The people on here are fans of the ny giants. Their individual mocks are their own opinion. Not everyone has your view of how things should be. I don't really care about armature mocks at all and I'm only really interested in who the Giants end up with instead of who they possibly could.

But others posting mocks certainly doesn't make me want to stop following the NFL. I don't even follow the logic behind that view.

You worded it about people "posting mock draft and scouting reports" not people you work with but regardless to answer your question.

I live in an area witch probably has more clueless fans than most. This area is traditionally basketball country but since the Titans have relocated to this region you have many first generation NFL fans who are far more clueless about the NFL game than anywhere else I have encountered.

I will admit they sometimes can bug me, but the thought of my giving up following the Giants as a result has never come close to entering my mind.

Do you really think any of those fans you encounter during your day would annoy you any less even if would quit following football? Not likely, they would be just as annoying to listen to.

If a message board is causing you to feel that way by all means take a break from BBI.

because MHF appears to miss the fact that this site is a F A N F O R U M and that is exactly what people are doing. maybe he doesn't like the format or had a bad day or its raining in miami (where perhaps he's from). i'd just tell him to relax. it was the first day of summer here and every single person in new york was out celebrating that glorious event. wish he could have enjoyed it too.

now...to be equitable, there have been about 8 billion mocks here. after the first 50 or so i don't even read them anymore - no offense to anyone but absent maybe a handful of posters here, everyone else's are pure speculation. perhaps part of MHF's angst is the result of it having been FOUR MONTHS since anything important happened. folks are antsy and want to pass the time making shit up.

but my larger point is ...who cares? people are having fun generating these things and far be it from me to want to squash any interest in the process. we are all, in the end, fans - irrational, possessive, passionate, opinionated lay people - who luckily don't have to make a living doing this stuff.

perhaps MHF should just take a long walk and have a cocktail.
