Chavez thinks he won

- Matthysse was just too big and strong. Plus he was allowed to get away with a lot of rough stuff.
- I must give Provodnikov a lot of credit... I didn't think there was anyway this fight would go the distance after round 2. Not only did it go the distance, it was actually close.
- The ref let too much of Matthysse's B.S. go. I've never seen a fighter hold an opponent's head down for 10 rounds before getting a warning. And it wasn't even an official warning... it was more like "stop doing that".

or that Povodnikov would get dropped. On paper Matthysse doesn't appear to hold much of an advantage but he did seem a lot bigger and made the most of that 3" reach advantage.

It's early, but that was one of the best fights I've seen so far this year.
