Why are the Giants pursuing him? I realize we lack safeties on the roster but you would hope we could do better then him. Who would be comfortable with Brown having to play?
I was a huge S. Brown fan.....thought he still might have some problems with the knee that might hurt him last year.....instead, it was his brain, not his knee that was the problem....
I agree wholeheartedly. There's nothing wrong with rookies or second year players using their God given athleticism. We do have coaches to teach them, right?
...that said, the guy got $3 million last year and was benched after Game 3. Similarly, Paysinger made $1.4 million and was in the coach's doghouse from preseason. Very perplexing personnel moves by Reese last year.
He was coming off a knee surgery that usually takes a year and 1/2 to recover from, since he does not have the greatest speed as it is, maybe, just maybe this was the issue, if he was so bad why are there so many teams in pursuit.

Because it's BS noise from his agent? Trying to get he Giants to pony up more money?
Brown on paper at least would become our best Safety. S is the biggest hole on this team to me. Counting on Behre and Cooper, some practice squad converted CB's, and a guy(s)that they haven't even drafted yet seems like a recipe for disaster. If one or two guys can beat Brown during camp, then fine. But with or without him, our Safety situation sucks.
I remember him saying that his role coming into the 2014 season was radically changed by Perry Fewell. (He was basically asked to be a LOT less aggressive playing the ball).
Consequently, he missed a lot of critical assignments, and looked lousy (big shame on him). But the other factor (which was not his fault) was that he was coming of a very serious ACL. He actually played well, the last few games.
So, I'm not joining the crowd around here, who is trying to shove him under the bus. I think he will thrive in Spags' "go get that ball" defensive schemes.
The Post is saying he's close to re-signing, for better or worse.
one good year in an otherwise forgettable NFL career that includes stints with the Raiders & Colts. He played pretty well the one season playing the back third in Fewell's Cover 3. I don't hold out much hope for him, but as long as the salary is commensurate to a prayer shot, I do not mind them signing him. After he was benched, there was a 2-3 game stretch when he stood out as a gunner. He came down under control, unlike Bowman, who got faked out of his jock a few times by the PR. So that is a plus.
