Are you kidding me?? One 1 o clock game until December ?? Not to sound like an old fart because I'm 32 but there aren't gonna be many warm games on there

Dallas and then there are 4 very winnable games before we take on the Eagles. This schedule could lead to a fast start

All about when you are playing a team.
SanFranNowNCGiantsFan : 4/21/2015 8:16 pm : link
But on paper-ON PAPER-it looks manageable, provided you think offense takes step forward & Spags works his magic.
on paper that's a favorable slate
WeatherMan : 4/21/2015 8:16 pm : link
AFC East / NFC South really only have one team you expect to be a contender in the Patriots, and the weak stretch after the bye sets the stage for this team to end the season hot if they can stay healthy.
I like the schedule
charlito : 4/21/2015 8:16 pm : link
At least 11 wins. Ending in another Superbowl win.
Look on the bright side you old farts
Stupendamatic : 4/21/2015 8:17 pm : link
-We have a week 11 bye.
-Five of our last six games are at 1pm.
-No West coast trips.
-Our two trips to Florida are in November & December.
Don't like playing Dallas in week 7 coming off Monday night
WillieYoung : 4/21/2015 8:18 pm : link
But, there are a lot more winnable games outside the division this year as compared to the last two years. If we beat Washington twice and split the other two division series we're back in the playoffs.

PS I know how stupid it is to predict wins and losses on the second day of offseason workouts.
that schedule is great
English Alaister : 4/21/2015 8:18 pm : link
Once week one is done they might not need to get on a plane until November
Can't see our team winning 12 games
est1986 : 4/21/2015 8:18 pm : link
In any scenario but 10 or 11 wins might be good enough.

Should be fun to watch OBJ play against Revis and Grimes in back to back weeks. So long as all players involved are healthy, this should be a good barometer of things to come for Odell
For a "crappy" team they sure do have a

bradshaw44 : 4/21/2015 8:25 pm : link
At least on paper. If we have an OL that's serviceable, we SHOULD make the playoffs. And yes, I know, every season is different. Hence "on paper".

"Flexible scheduling" will be used in Weeks 11-17. Additionally, in Weeks 5-10, flexible scheduling may be used in no more than two weeks. In Weeks 5-16, the schedule lists the games tentatively set for Sunday Night Football on NBC. Only Sunday afternoon games are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, in which case the tentatively scheduled Sunday night game would be moved to an afternoon start time. Flexible scheduling will not be applied to games airing on Thursday, Saturday or Monday nights. A flexible scheduling move would be announced at least 12 days before the game. For Week 17, the Sunday night game will be announced no later than six days prior to January 3. The schedule does not list a Sunday night game in Week 17, but an afternoon game with playoff implications will be moved to that time slot. Flexible scheduling ensures quality match-ups in all Sunday time slots in those weeks and gives “surprise” teams a chance to play their way into prime time.
See, the last few years of sucking are finally paying off

How did the season ticket holders get screwed re: start times?

I'm a season ticket holder and I don't feel "screwed" at all. 4 of our 8 home games are 1PM starts. Are people really expecting every home game for the Giants to start at 1PM? LOL, if so.
And if 1 or 2 of them get flexed (big if),
Dave in Hoboken : 4/21/2015 8:56 pm : link
so be it. Some of those games are big match ups. (Eagles Week 17, Jets).

Maybe you don't work as both the Washington and 49ers games are at night and night games suck for those who work.
Greg Hardy
TurnAndCoughlin : 4/21/2015 8:59 pm : link
Suspension still looming. If he gets any games, we'll miss him Week 1. Many reports predict he'll get a six-game suspension, in which case his first game since Week 1 of the 2014 season will be our second Dallas meeting (rusty?). Could be a small, but beneficial aspect of the schedule. And Will Beatty sleeps a little a little better tonight ...

Don't mean to be rude but staying up late at home is a lot different than sitting in a stadium at 11pm or later and driving home in traffic with work the next day.

You could look at it like that. Or you can look at it that we'll be healthier early in the season.
Only one bad scheduling matchup
Jon C. in MD : 4/21/2015 9:17 pm : link
There is only one game that will be really hard due to the schedule. The 2nd game against Dallas, we are on a short week after playing MNF, and they are on a bye.

Otherwise, it's pretty fair from a scheduling standpoint.

Not sure why giants2012 thinks I am unemployed, but typical BBI to attack the poster.

Easy to take a Friday off if needed, or suck it up for one day.

I love the Sunday night football tailgates, cando something else during the day and still enjoy the game later.

I was speaking from a "value" point of view, this is a pretty good slate.

Only questionable game would be the 12/20 game if they aren't doing well.

I have never gotten more texts from friends wanting to come to games as I did in the last 3 hours.

For the record, I am employed, as a high ranking exec of my company, maybe I can more easily take the day after a game off if I need to, but I don't view that as a negative.

I am keeping the first weekend of feb open...

Love this team, love the schedule.

Questions:
Glover : 4/22/2015 6:55 am : link
Will the Giants step up and become a contender? Will teams like the Jets, Dolphins, and Bills become contenders or do they stay snakebit? There are many other variables that will ultimately determine the Giants final record, but if the Giants can beat those three teams, or take 2 of them, I think it will be a big factor as to whether they are a playoff team or not.
Of course the first part of the equation has to be the Giants becoming a better team, and I can see that happening with Eli in his second year of McAdoo's offense, Cruz coming back, better play from JPP, a healthier secondary, and the new players on defense.

weird that this team has so many problems with Philly.

Parcells did too.

Fassel kind of owned them.

how a team that finished 7-9 and 6-10 the last two years and will a play total of 10 prime time games the last two seasons

OBJ was one of the biggest stars at the end of last season. The primetime games are due to him.

Maybe so but we did not even have OBj yet before last years schedule came out and we had 5 prime time games after 2013 7-9 season, 2 prime time games i don't have a problem with like a previous poster mention we are horrible in prime time games especially against Philly.

with flex scheduling, it could be more than 5.
they do okay in primetime games
upstatenyg : 4/22/2015 9:01 am : link
Guess you forgot last year at WAS among others.

It can go either way, I haven't seen a relationship between what time they play and win or loss.

I have to say I don't think that 2 primetime games, and 2 4pm games with the rest of the home games at 1 is that different than most years.

Guess it is unusual that they come closer together than usual but not by much.

I like your positive attitude but I can have no expectations of improvement until we address the serious deficiencies on our o-line.

But even during the Parcells years weird shit with Philly always seemed to happen..The blocked FGA in OT returned for winning TD, Banks had Cunningham sacked yet amazingly held his balance for what proved to be winning score..Just two examples off the top of my head
That's a whole bucket of prime time slots.

Eric from BBI : Admin : 4/22/2015 9:38 am : link
other than Dallas getting extra time before the second meeting and the heavy focus on night games early, this is a really favorable schedule. There are only three playoff teams on it (and one of those was Carolina).

If they have a losing record this year, the coaching staff will probably be gone.

In the era when the Giants weren't very good
joeinpa : 4/22/2015 10:22 am : link
I would look at the Giants schedule and individual games, and basically try to figure out how they could have a play off contending season, without having to win any of the tough games.

The 80's and the Eli era, have reinforced the understanding that good teams, championship teams, beat who they play, when they play them.

As a result, other than that I don't love prime time games, I don't pay too much attention to the schedule anymore.

Dallas has their bye right before the second Giants game so they have two weeks to prepare.

Means nothing.

There is no concrete proof that two weeks off really makes a difference.

You guys worry about everything. If the Giants are good, they will win. IF they suck, they will struggle. The schedule isn't the enemy. This team needs to kick fucking ass again in 2015. Fuck this schedule shit and crying about night games and bye weeks and whatever else. The Giants won ten fucking road games in a row back in 2007. They beat the best teams to win each and every super bowl. The Giants do better when the schedule is tough.

I'm done making excuses. I give them a pass for the last 2.5 years--downward trends happen --but it's time for this franchise to win again. Get it the fuck done in 2015.

Agreed. Its a fucking disgrace.

The reason why I hate primetime games is different than it is for others. Generally speaking, we suck in them. That's my biggest qualm with having 5 in one season.

We haven't sucked in prime time in quite some time.

and cmon
djm : 4/22/2015 10:58 am : link
if you old fucks don't like the prime time slate, sell your tickets.

If you haven't made peace with the fact that many of the NYG home games will be at night then you never will. You're still surprised?

We could go back to the mid 90s when nobody gave a shit about this team and they were lucky to see one MNF game a year. Would you prefer that?

Put your tix on the ticket exchange and unload the terrible burden.
This is the first schedule in a number of years
JonC : 4/22/2015 11:03 am : link
where the word "brutal" didn't come to mind.
losing does have its perks
djm : 4/22/2015 11:24 am : link
but sometimes a bad schedule can turn brutal real quick and vice versa. The 2013 schedule turned out to be pretty manageable but the Giants were still terrible. IF that team had any talent they win 8-9 games in their sleep.

The Giants need to be the tough team on everyone elses schedule. Eli to BEckham is a good start they better be able to compliment those two and win games.
1pm games stink

Football looks right in person and on TV when the games kick off at 4pm. All the people bitching that they want 1pm starts sound like my father in law, who seems to take more pride in getting off the golf course in three hours than he does in actually enjoying the round he just played.
Minnesota
I wanna be Torbor, sucka : 4/22/2015 11:31 am : link
game could be huge. That is a good team who I think will be fighting for a playoff spot.

The AFC East could have the 3 best defensive lines in football, so that should be a good challenge for the Giants. Hopefully the fact that most of those games are later is good; the o-line gets a chance to really work together as a unit.

Dude you're not kidding. It seems half the people I know are in a rush to go nowhere. Even the FF draft I do every year, half the guys complain that it takes too long. Where the fuck do yo have to be that can't wait another 30 min?

Everyone's in a rush to go nowhere--especially in this part of the country. Fucking relax. I get why some hate the night games simply because it's gonna be a brutal wake up the next day but still, relax.

Very encourageing schedule,
oldog : 4/23/2015 11:21 am : link
must win 2 within division (1&7 Dallas, 3 Wash., 6 Philly) before the break, hopefully with at least a Dallas split. Atlanta, Buffalo, San Fran., New Orleans and Tampa Bay, can all be had, even maybe the SB champs at home if the footballs are all inflated. After break, Skins will be on the way to collapse, so will Jets; and Miami,Carolina and Minnesota, should be good for 2 of 3. Even with decent results we should stand at 9-5 going into final game at Philly. Could be a chance to hold the pattern,7-11-15. SB 42, 46, and on to 50. If Dallas can be taken by surprise in the opener, could be a walk in the park.
