Goran Dragic hinted that he will likely return to the Miami Heat next season.
"I look forward to come back to have a great season with the Heat," Dragic said in a video released to Heat fans. It makes a lot of sense for him to return to Miami considering they can offer an extra year (Heat can offer five years while other teams are limited to four), but stranger things have happened in free agency. The Heat were decimated by injuries this season, but a potential lineup of Dragic, Dwyane Wade, Luol Deng, Chris Bosh and Hassan Whiteside would be pretty deadly in the weak Eastern Conference.

According to Yahoo Sports, Rajon Rondo will not return to Dallas next season if Rick Carlisle is the head coach.
This should surprise no one, as it's pretty obvious that Rondo and Carlisle's relationship has been disastrous at best. Rondo played just 10 minutes in Tuesday's defeat in Houston, and Carlisle opted to go with Raymond Felton to close out the game. Yahoo Sports reported that the Lakers would have been Rondo's choice had he never been traded to Dallas, so it looks like a move to Los Angeles could be in the works for the mercurial guard. This story is only going to heat up if the Mavericks are eliminated, so be sure to check back for updates.

I think Monroe is coming here for the 4 year max so that is 15 million
If you could convince Rondo to take a deal starting around 7 million...Give him an option and then if he plays well you sign him long term when the cap goes way up...
That leaves you with around 7 million to spend...Maybe convince Wes Mathews to do the same?
Rondo Mathews Melo Monroe Towns?
Like i said though only take Rondo if he is coming on a discount, I do think Rondo and Melo want to play together...
No 1 year with an opt out so it would be 2 year deal...
basically you tell him look you have a great year and you can cash in when the cap goes way up or if you get hurt you have the opt in to protect you
Oh i am sure he can, and if he does good luck to that team...
As for him signing a short deal, with the cap about to rise I'd expect a ton of players to either sign a one year deal and bank on themselves, or sign long term deals with an opt out after one of two years.
Major pass.
and thats fine like i said, that would be the only way i would like it...
If i am a GM i do not touch him for more than that
I'm going to shit if the Lakers blow their next few years on a Rondo-Love big payday package this offseason.
Jackson also said he will keep options open on the trade offers for the pick. A lot depends on where is. If it's 5th they may be more open to dealing it...

I think if they are 3 and Towns and Okafor are off the board, i could see Phil trading the pick...
Phil made it sound like he wants to go big in the draft but who knows...
He also mentioned getting a player that can slash and can drive to the basket.
I think Phil wants Towns based on what he has said the past month or so
I would really like this, knicks need a SG badly, well they need a lot badly but SG has been their biggest weakness,
When you have to continually play 2 PGs you have no SGs
Only way to to still have some flexibility is to somehow get rid of Calderon and THJR...
Trade them you save 8 million
Then trade the pick for cousins...that is technically around 12 million going out...
So really you would only be taking on around 1 million...
So instead of the pick and Melo, you would have Melo and Cousins with around 28 million to spend on free agents...
As long as he can get healthy he would be a great fit...
My dream scenario at the start of the season was adding Mathews and Aldridge to Melo...
I thought if you could pry Mathews MAYBE he could talk Aldridge into joining him...
Calderon
Mathews
Melo
Monroe
Towns (or a vet center with towns off the bench)
is a good team and monroe and mathews are still in their prime so they should be longterm pieces as well. Now the injury worries me since you will be paying a guy pretty good money before he even gets back on the court.
Batum, Aldridge and Lillard are all getting big contracts in this off season or next..
Plus Lopez is a free agent as well and he has been good next to Aldridge...

That would probably leave around 7 million to spend also...
I still think Calderon and Hardaway JR get moved before July 1st
No knock at all...i agree it wasn't groundbreaking but the entire article is pretty interesting. Mainly the part where Jax says he's in no rush..
I think the Knicks are in good patient hands. Just hope the moves they make pan out. The turnaround doesn't have to take place overnight, but it appears while Jackson is not into quick fixes he does expect big steps to be made and soon.

knock on djm but I am surprised Jackson saying he'd be open to dealing the pick is garnering such headlines.

I merely meant... shouldn't Jackson leave all options open? It's not as if we have the guaranteed #1 overall pick and Tim Duncan ready to join the Knicks.
It is really hard to project who the Knicks are going to bring in without knowing when the Knicks will pick and who they will take.
I just hope whichever big free agents they can get, that they are young players because no matter who we draft, we are still years away.
SG: Hardaway, Shved, Tyler Harvey (via acquired 2nd rounder)
SF: Melo, Early, Antetakoumbo
PF: Monroe via FA, Brandon Wright via FA, Amundson
C: Towns via # 1, Jason Smith or equivalent
I am more or less against trading the pick but i'd listen to offers and trade the pick if it was too good to pass up.
I'm definitely excited about the next few months of the off-season. This has really never happened before..cap room, draft pick...should be fun
I hope the Lakers sign Rondo and Love to long term max deals. That would be some entertaining reality tv.
Knicks will have at least 23 million to spend next year even if they use all of their cap space...

That is an awful back court...If Hardaway is starting this team is in trouble...
I want no part of Jackson and i dont think your getting him either...
You will have to max out Jackson and Monroe to get them, that is all your cap space..

I agree, it should be a fun off season...

is to have enough money to sign Durant if he hits free agency next year. I think the Knicks will come away with Monroe and a player like Matthews as long as there is enough cap space for the following free agency period. This is not just a 1 year rebuild.

And close to another 20 depending on what they add next year
There is probably a less than a 20% of the Knicks getting Towns even if they like him.
Fans need to make peace with that. I can just see BBI melting down when the Knicks end up picking 4th and Towns goes 2nd.
I can't even hope for lottery luck. I refuse to. I just want a good player.
