NFT: Knicks chat!!!!!!!!!!

Goran Dragic hinted that he will likely return to the Miami Heat next season.
"I look forward to come back to have a great season with the Heat," Dragic said in a video released to Heat fans. It makes a lot of sense for him to return to Miami considering they can offer an extra year (Heat can offer five years while other teams are limited to four), but stranger things have happened in free agency. The Heat were decimated by injuries this season, but a potential lineup of Dragic, Dwyane Wade, Luol Deng, Chris Bosh and Hassan Whiteside would be pretty deadly in the weak Eastern Conference.

According to Yahoo Sports, Rajon Rondo will not return to Dallas next season if Rick Carlisle is the head coach.
This should surprise no one, as it's pretty obvious that Rondo and Carlisle's relationship has been disastrous at best. Rondo played just 10 minutes in Tuesday's defeat in Houston, and Carlisle opted to go with Raymond Felton to close out the game. Yahoo Sports reported that the Lakers would have been Rondo's choice had he never been traded to Dallas, so it looks like a move to Los Angeles could be in the works for the mercurial guard. This story is only going to heat up if the Mavericks are eliminated, so be sure to check back for updates.

Russell or Mudiay

dont blow me away. I admit I haven't seen alot on them but I haven't been blown away by what I have seen. Whether Mudiays game will translate to the Nba would be a big ? for me from what i've seen out of his passing.

What I see out of Frank is a kid that can knock down the 3 but can also take his man to the hole. He wasn't afraid of WCS or Towns. Dekker was a little M.I.A. in that game. When Wisconsin needed to get over the hump they kept feeding F.K. and he took out a team with multiple 1st rounders. I would take him over Winslow in a heartbeat.
Franks ugliness has to play a serious factor into his draft stock

As a fan, do you really want to look at this mug for 82+ games a year?

who says Mudiay is going to be a MAJOR star. I'm not going to say who he is but for anyone who knows me(well specifically Mook I'd say haha) knows my sources are real. Makes me want him- I'm not sold on any of the other guys being a major star, and the Knicks need the upside.

My ideal offseason ends up being like this after hearing this-

PG Mudiay
SG Danny Green(if the Spurs go after Gasol or LMA, they'll need to renounce him)
SF Melo
PF Milsap
C Robin Lopez

Dont think thats realistic(don't think the Milsap part is), but thats a pretty damn good team as of next year provided Mudiay at least is the ++ defender he can be in his rookie season while he grows into his game. It provides ideal spacing, some rim protection and excellent perimeter defense.

If we went with Monroe instead of Milsap, we'd def need a stretch 5, but Melo has also said he would be open to playing the 4 this season, and Monroe can play the 5, although with no rim protection. We can then try to find another 3 and D guy to play next to Green. We can also play Monroe at the 4 and try to find a 5 with rim protection and outside shooting, but I have no idea who that is on the FA market.
I would be pissed

if the Knicks end up with Frank Kaminsky as their pick, That would be such a let down after the season we jus thad to witness...

He may have been able to drive in college but he is not going to be able to drive by guys in the NBA...

His niche will be playing that stretch 4 position....

He is definitely going to find a home somewhere but if i am picking top 5 i am not touching him...

He is going to be a good role player 6th or 7th man off the bench IMO

Worry not, there is literally zero chance that he is the Knicks pick. Less then zero.

oh i know i was just making a general statement..

As for Mudiay the more i read about him and the more video i watch the more i like him...he is still behind towns for me but i think he may be even with Okafor...

I like Mudiay. If we got him I'd be happy. I do think the top 3 are Towns, Okafor, and Mudiay. I am not as high on D'Angelo Russell as most of the NBA guys are. I just have a huge issue with a PG who has trouble breaking guys down off the dribble. I love his passing skills though.
Some people who have seen Mudiay love him.
manh george : 4/23/2015 1:34 pm : link
They talk about his unusual maturity for his age, his court vision, athleticism, and unusual size given his physical skills.

From the linked, from Marbury:

[quote]“He’s got his own style — fast,’’ Marbury said. “He’s got a little bit of everybody’s game. What I like about him is he can jump and he’s big, too, a big guard, more of a tweener. He can’t really shoot that well right now, but he’s got point-guard skills, sees the floor really well. He’s definitely an NBA player. The question that teams want to know is if he’ll be impactful for the organization before they invest the top pick. [quote]

I think a number of teams are going to want to see what he looks like in pre-draft workouts.

I haven't
EricNY33 : 4/23/2015 1:41 pm : link
see him in anything but the HS All-Star Games last year. He is a tremendous talent. I am always wary of PG's who can't shoot because in today's NBA it's so important but that wouldn't deter me from taking him.

if you watch his DX video his shot supposedly got better last year and his form is not broken....just a matter how hard he works on it...

Russell seems like he is going to turn into Evan Turner with a better jump shot...Turner has trouble getting into the lane but was a very good passer in college and could fil up the stat sheet..a lot of people saw him as a big PG coming out of college...

I think Russell can be like that but a better jumper..
I hate the Evan Turner comp
Osi Osi Osi OyOyOy : 4/23/2015 2:00 pm : link
with Russell. IMO that's a major reach just because they both played at the same school.

I wasn't a fan of Turner as a prospect, he just seemed like a great college player whose skills didn't really translate to the pros. Russell looks like a guy who could fit in the pros easily. He's much better at creating his own shot and a natural passer.
I like Russell a lot, but I've never seen him as a PG.
shockeyisthebest8056 : 4/23/2015 2:07 pm : link
He's more like a James Harden-type 2 that can handle the ball far more than than average 2 would.

I just dont think Russell will be able to create his own shot as easily in the NBA...

He has very good handles but i think he is going to settle for a lot of Jumpers in the NBA..

I just dont see the speed or athleticism in his game to help get by defenders in the NBA..
that's why I really hope

They most likely wont workout against each other...most of the time top prospects do not workout against other top prospects
yea but Mudiay being from China

I'd hope that he takes the workout tour more seriously. He has more to prove than the typical college star.

Which is fine, but he's not even as good an athlete as Harden is and in fact... if his position is a SG in the NBA I like him even less.

I agree. Workouts are going to be so crucial for his draft positioning. If he does poorly he could drop.

The guy Russell reminds me of the most is Brandon Roy. They have a similar build, both very well rounded players offensively but with inconsistent jumpers. I think Roy was the better defender and was a bit more athletic, but when i watch Russell I definitely see a lot of Roy. Surprised nobody has made that comp yet.

because I don't see it. Brandon Roy, prior to his knee injury, was a very good athlete and had a quick first step. Russell has neither.

He was one of my favorite players too. Sucks what happened.
Mudiay has a lot to prove...
manh george : 4/23/2015 5:40 pm : link
but why would Russell work out against him? No upside for Russell.

I am confident that Mudiay will bust his ass to prove to NBA teams that he's worth taking high, but he isn't getting help in that regard from his closest competitor.

Tape of Chad Ford's summary linked.
