Good morning Yankee and Ranger fans! 'Twas a good night last night in the great land of NY. I love when. My teams have double duo nights like that (Jeters last game and Giants beat Redskins on Thursday night Football) anyway, another stellar performance last night by Michael Pineda going 7.2 giving up 1 ER and 5 H! The TeX man with 2 HRs and 4 RBIs and even Stephen Drew collected one. I know the rivalry is fierce competition and loyalty within, but stay clean and LetsGoYankees!
Sabathia vs Harvey at 4:05.
Not even a remote possibility...
Timing of it sucks because now I have to hear all about how the Mets are no good and just beat bad teams, etc.. but that's ok. It's a long season. Would like to take this one today and at least have a chance to win the series tomorrow. Just don't get swept.
Lmao...Susan if you think you can figure baseball I got a bridge to sell you..

This is a Yankee thread. Stay the fuck off of it, man.
By the way, it's "Suzyn". Show her some respect, ah haha HAHAHA HA HA HA!!! Woo you are on the Mark, Teixeira! WOO! Fuck. It is great being Route 9 today! WOOOOO!!
It was probably because the fences are so short.
The logic as to why the Yankees would win two was dumb. The Yankees would win two because they are hot; the Mets would not because they were too hot, and ripe to cool off?
Nice analysis.

The "That's baseball..." part went over your head apparently.
If you want real "analysis", deGrom has struggled against LHB this year and they're hitting .404 off him now. Leaving a couple of meatballs in the chute for Teixiera to turn into souvenirs was asking for trouble. Ellsbury got him too. It just seemed like one of those games where the Mets were going to run into a buzzsaw.
Sometimes you get feelings about teams and trends and the way things can go. I thought the Mets would lose the series for that reason and said it before it started.
They're obviously not the best team in baseball but their record hadn't reflected it yet. Things always have a way of leveling out. Sorry if my post bothered you. I'll go back to Mets land now.
But we are seeing the effect of one old adage: hitting, or the lack thereof, are both contagious. The Yankees are going up to the plate ready to attack, and that attitude is carrying through to everyone that starts except Beltran and Didi. So, while they should fall off somewhat in run prodution, it is entirely possible that they are simply a better hitting team, by a lot than they were last year, in part because they have more aggressive hitters who are feeding off each other.
Everyone raise your hands:"who expected the Yankees to be a power hitting team this year? Of course, they still need to stay healthy, and get Beltran permanently out of the lineup at some point. He's just done.
Meanwhile, on the pitching side, there was all of this moaning coming out of the sportswriters about how "riky" the Yankees rotation was. Well, maybe risks break right, and Tanaka can pitch with a partially torn tendon (which the doctors agree with), CC can give them innings, Pineda stays healthy and Eovaldi is the real deal. Then if they get Nova back, all of a sudden, not so risky. The back end, of course, is near world class.

This is exactly what the new hitting coach was talking about in his first intended with the press, and what I've been hoping for. It's been interesting to me to read Yankees fans who wanted a change at that coaching position, got the change they wanted, then convinced themselves that there was no way these Yankees would hit.
Good hitters should benefit from good hitting coaching.

RT @Mets: HOME RUN!!! LUCAS DUDA!!
At worst, you give up 1 run, you bear down and get the last out, and it's 2-1 with 6 innings to tie it.
Now it's 5-1, and it's an uphill climb.
And you don't even have to cover 1st base!
