I recall Charlie Casserly saying he would only start looking at mock drafts the week before because anything prior to that is so unreliable. So here we are a week away and this is when things often start to come into focus.
That said, it's also a time where a lot of misinformation comes out, so take things with a grain of salt.
Doesn't have to be Giants... so what are we hearing?
In each of the past 2 years, there have been 5 trades involving 1st round picks.
Over the past 10 years, there have been an average of 5.9 trades involving 1st round picks.
So I think it is reasonable for football fans to expect about 6 trades involving 1st round picks this Thursday. Perhaps more considering the overall sense that these draft has a limited number of blue goose picks.
I'm going out on a limb - bullshit. They need a bevy of quality players and cannot afford to give a 2nd and 3rd to move to #4.
Mid-first round that is.

Section: It's a damn shame when it's pretty obvious that many posters on this board know more about the Giants tendencies & needs than sports reporters. This little "rumor" is just a very stupid guess by a reporter that is in the dark about the team he covers.
For the Giants to trade up this year and lose a pick, the player would have to have All-Pro written on him.
