I know people won't like the Gurley pick, but he was by far the best player on the board IMO.
Went out and got a very good 4-3 DE.
Had a pick between Tre Jackson, Tomlinson & Marpet in the 3rd. Went out & got PFF top rated college Guard in 2014.
Yes Josh Shaw had that whole incident last year, but he was a stud before that & had that not happened he probably would have went earlier in a weak safety class. Impressed at the combine, East West Shrine & the Senior Bowl.
In the 5th got a CB who could be a very good slot guy. If he had better size he would be taken a round or two higher IMO.
Poutasi is a guy with a lot of upside. Played both tackle positions & Guard for the Utes. Maybe one day turn into a starter if not he should be solid depth.
Davis Tull & Wes Saxton are just physical freaks who might not ever develop into anything, but that's why they were taken in the 7th round. Have to take a chance on athletes like this & hope they turn that athletic ability into football talent.
If our draft went like this I would be ecstatic. I feel there are 4 potential day 1 starters drafted. Any opinions?
Yup, Rick. Whenever I see Cooper or White available I just pick someone else or start over.
Also get a couple of developmental players in the late rounds. At positions we could use help. Could hopefully get somebody who turns out better then Adrien Robinson & a pass rush tweener who the Giants have been looking for forever.
