My fiancé thought America isn't ready to handle this issue. Good for Bruce to finally be his true self. It was quite obvious that this has been an issue with him his entire life and he never truly felt he could be who he really was. Hopefully this makes it easier for people who struggle with the same issues to be who they deep down feel they are. 1 in 4 people dealing with gender identity issues ends up killing themselves, so hopefully people be more accepting after seeing a big celeb "come out" per se.
Kris Jenner is an absolutely awful person. All the Kardashians are, but she's the tree. They're trying to capitalize on this. Are they producing Belinda's miniseries on E!?
Did you know that Duke Johnson is trading in his johnson?
Hey joe, where you goin' with that dick in your mouth?

But I couldn't care less about jenner and the kardashians. They're a side show. It's truly bizarre how our society has attached itself to such a vapid, selfish, untalented and truly insignificant clan whose only station in life is to make money, gain followers, and perpetuate their own dubious existence. It's all disgusting.
I definitely agree. But that aside, he did a good thing lastnight. Can't stand the mom and how she whores out her family, but that's a separate issue.
I hear you UConn. But isn't he whoring himself out too by taking such a high profile interview? We haven't cared about Bruce Jenner since someone put a new picture on a Wheaties box. He's been inconsequential for decades. Most people in this country have no fucking clue what a Decathelon is!
Obviously the interview is an attempt to draw ATTENTION to the family with the ultimate goal of making money and extending their media legacy.
It's disgusting and completely ridiculous. They've fooled our country into believing that they're relevant.
Yet they produce nothing, make nothing, they're not innovative in any way. They're not creative. They're not interesting outside of being a trainwreck. A sideshow. A circus.
It's all a scam on our society. It's a con. A gaff. And unfortunately much of our nation - voters unfortunately - have fallen for such complete and utter horseshit.
If people didn't want it and pay for it you might be right. However...
Well said. B in Alb is one of the better posters on BBI and is a rational person so I cant dismiss his opinion too easily but I think the actual special went a very long way to dispel the possibility that Bruce is engaging in a simple publicity stunt.
I really do think Bruce is a troubled individual that has been tormented for years with an issue. If Bruce can help just one person gain acceptance rather than feel the need to take their own life, he's positively influenced society to a much larger extent than his family's shitty television has detracted from it.
But I'd be naive not to think that there's not a monetary aspect to this announcement, interview and upcoming "reality" show.
Please. There are thousands of people in this country - everyday - struggling with their identity and existence. And those folks aren't quite as fortunate to be able to profit from it.

Seriously - We should let anyone be at peace with themselves.. not hurting anyone...
Yeah. We'll leave him alone as soon as he stops doing Diane Sawyer interviews trolled out to hundreds of millions of people. Fuck him.
Like I posted earlier, F-him +1
Well said HH
I'm wondering the same thing if I think I'm something I'm not isn't that a mental illness or disorder of some kind?
Actually Gender Dysphoria is in the DSM. But it's merely a term used to describe extreme discontent with their gender of birth. Many argue , myself included, feel it shouldn't be a diagnosis at all. The experience is stigmatizing enough without slapping a diagnosis on someone, to say nothing of it engendering stupidity and ignorance like in the earlier "nutcase" comment.
It's not a mental disorder. Many people are born one way and feel like there souls are another gender which makes them want to be the other gender. These people have felt this way since they can remember. NBC ran a series of documentaries on it this week and a 4 year old girl true lily felt she was a boy since she was 2. The parents moved her to a new school and let her live her life as a boy and she couldn't be happier.
You don't need to watch the show or the interview. I didn't. It's only whoring if you pay money for it. So don't.

With that logic do you have a problem with pedophiles? Pedophiles are born pedophiles. They cannot control there feelings toward children. I guess let them be, right? Pedophiles are sane individuals and should be traeated as such according to you.
Personally I do think once you have kids... well, you've kind of crossed a bridge, but if his kids truly don't care about this, then that's between them. I also think that at age 65.... I mean what's the freakin point now?? You should have done this 50 years ago. That's a lot of freakin surgery to go through for very little time to live your new life. But whatever, not my life.
Whats NOT getting enough air time here is that Bruce or whatever her new name is... recently KILLED an innocent person. Where are the 1 hour specials on this and why has this guy not been charged with manslaughter yet?
I mean this is some low-hanging fruit considering the source :)
your a fucking moron….end of story
For any Transgender person to do it they would?
Since they can't they change their bodies to feel complete and content at peace.
I Imagine that's a hellacious journey.
That doesn't sound like a mental illness to me.
Just people being people
Guess courage has no gender.
Walk a mile in someone's shoes comes to mind.
This thread is like one of life's IQ tests
I don't know enough to know what it's like to be a transsexual but, at the end of the day, he isn't hurting anyone and is doing what he thinks he needs to do to be happy. Again, anyone who gets all wrapped up in their own intense hatred of what he's doing has their own special problem and needs their own head examined.
Wait - what is this?
I don't watch/follow these people, and must have been overwhelmed with boredom to even click on/read through this thread. I don't know anything beyond what's been said here.
But I've seen countless magazine covers with headlines about Bruce Jenner being transgender and one last week about him being suicidal. I would think that if he killed someone it would have made a headline that caught my eye.
Any details MAB?
Paparazzi caught him clearly texting while driving and bottom line is the tragedy could and should have been avoided. Police havent charged anyone yet - supposedly he may get out of this because someone else stopped short, or another technicality that causes some doubt... but its suspicious to say the least.
But instead of having some remorse for at least being partially responsible for the death of a 65 year old innocent neighbor, the guy is more concerned about getting himself a sex change.
Could you imagine the waiting list for these surgeries if word gets out that he/she would go to a female prison? Haha. Let's see, I can go be Bubbas bitch or I can go have hot lesbian sex. Or, just lesbian sex, since most of it prolly wouldn't be very hot. But it's still but than the alternative...
What does one have to do with the other?
B, the US tends to house transgender prisoners based on birth gender.
Wow - thanks for sharing. I hadn't heard of this at all and, like you, I'm wondering where the press is on all of this.
Sometimes I wonder if there isn't some larger conspiracy in what is reported in the mainstream press. I think it far more likely that the people who drive the news stories spend too much time listening to each other, generally speaking. It's just amazing how certain stories capture the headlines for a time.
Take the police violence stories that have been building for the past couple of years. It's certainly an issue, but not a new one. A far more recent story is that of the rise in deaths from the use of tech while driving, yet that story hasn't had legs really. Perhaps people haven't been outraged enough yet.
Another example is how when Twitter came out. Literally nobody knew what it was or was using it and all the news networks started hyping it like it was already ubiquitous. Without the media jumping on the Twitter bandwagon it likely would have died a quick death, what with the learning curve required to interpret messages. But for whatever reason the news got right into promoting it. I guess they thought it would help them stay relevant, which ironically seems to have been the opposite of what's happened.
I laughed ^
This thread really misses Spock.
I think it's Ms Jenner
Unless Belinda got Married in the states that allow it,until the religious right takes hold of the country again.
-Put gas can down
"Jenner's phone records also confirmed what his lawyer previously said — that the star of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" was not texting at the time of the tragic crash."
At this point, it would appear that both the texting/ not texting are hearsay, with the full report due out any day (also from the article), so it's probably prudent to withhold any judgement until facts are known.
I will say, I don't particularly care for an article which has an incendiary headline (DODGING a charge) and then goes on to say it appears there's nothing to indicate manslaughter is relevant, thus he wouldn't be dodging anything.

It's a difficult life that a transgender individual lead, so good on them when they find the courage to be who they are in public.
