Just when you thought the new settlement for brain injuries was more complete than the last, the NFL's trickeration continues.
From Time.com
"Families of players who have died of CTE can get $4 million, but only if the player has passed away prior to the final approval date of the settlement."
The "But only if the player has passed away prior to the final approval date of the settlement." is some real bullshit. How can you exclude those who have yet to be diagnosed/pass away? Is there some special fund for them? What about the current players?
This is wrong on so many levels, I'm not sure where to begin. Yes, they can opt out and pursue their own litigation, but how many actually have the funds for an extended legal battle with the NFL?
Just plain wrong.

They're not even subtle. Almost mafia-like.
"Basically, what are you gonna do about it? Huh? Here's a couple dollars. Go away."
Like my dad says: "Throw money at the problem. It usually goes away."
Used to be red, white, and blue. This feels more appropriate.
