No way I would pick

him over Jalen Strong
Math Alert
Jim in Tampa : 5/1/2015 7:53 pm : link
Even though we got a pick back...yes we actually did give up three picks...a 2nd, 4th and 7th. Not even sure why this is an issue since we all agree that the net loss is two picks.

Love the trade and the pick.

Me too, Odi looks a lot like a rookie Tuck to my eye. He's a bit mechanical, but showed ability to play inside and out on the edge.

Do you know what the Giants think of him?
Looking back at past drafts, I came across the 1986 draft
Reese's Pieces : 5/1/2015 7:54 pm : link
when the Giants had four 2nd round draft choices and five out of the first 53 picks.

They whiffed on the last #2, Greg Lasker at safety, knocked a bloop single with first round pick Eric Dorsey, a four year starter at defensive end. In between they picked Mark Collins, an underrated corner who was an eleven year starter, Pepper Johnson, a ten year starter at linebacker, and Erik Howard, a ten year Giant who came up big in the 2nd Super Bowl season.

First six picks all defense. That's how to turn a defense around, although this is a different era and re-signing three high draft picks after their rookie contracts were up would probably not be possible.
Panthers
Mr. Nickels : 5/1/2015 7:55 pm : link
should go Jalen Strong here youd think

Then maxx williams is likely to go to either falcons browns or saints
Carolina will probably go Fisher or Clemmings

Only what I posted at 749. Shite draft for 4-3 DEs. Preston Smith also apparently better suited to 3-4, although the Redskins announced him as a LB!
Now that makes
Emil : 5/1/2015 7:58 pm : link
very little sense to me. But they now have to huge WRs.
WTF
Rflairr : 5/1/2015 7:58 pm : link
Futchess over Jalen Strong?
Looking back at how hard it has been for the Giants to use
Reese's Pieces : 5/1/2015 7:58 pm : link
their middle round picks on good players, give away a fourth to get a player they really believe in.
Bad pick
jeff57 : 5/1/2015 7:59 pm : link
.
Panthers
Mr. Nickels : 5/1/2015 7:59 pm : link
not very good drafters.

They mustve felt scared by Browns and Saints
Carolina
AcidTest : 5/1/2015 7:59 pm : link
takes Funchess. Surprised they didn't take Strong.
Trade way up there...
illmatic : 5/1/2015 7:59 pm : link
for Funchess? There's a surprising pick.
Jalen
Rflairr : 5/1/2015 7:59 pm : link
injury must be an issue?

Interesting, looks to be the case. Could also explain why the Giants brought in Selvie. Nothing to write home about at 4-3 DE this year. Amazing how this is becoming a hard position to fill. Nothing but tweeners and 3-4 DEs.

Given all that, I bet it is DT in round 3.
Michael Bennett
Marty866b : 5/1/2015 8:01 pm : link
I'd love to see this guy as our pick in the 3rd round. He's a poor man's Aaron Donald. very disruptive and if anyone has watched a lot of OSU football, you have to love the way this guy plays. He reminds me of a young Cullen Jenkins.

I love Kendricks' game and would've loved him for us, but I don't think he fits our LB profile. It's too bad, we could use guys like him.
Who Philly trade up for?

Well, he would have to fork over his entire rookie salary in fines if he was a Giants. Coughlin's rules would put him in the poor house.
im so sick of people booing Goodell...

I'd be all for it but I have a hard time shaking the feeling that a good many of the folks are booing him for silly reasons.

Quentin Rollins maybe in rd 3?
AcesUp : 5/1/2015 8:41 pm : link
Can play corner or safety. Can potentially be that centerfielder, or if one of our roster holdovers blossom, creates competition and depth at corner.
I'd be very happy with Rollins in 3

The fun thing about watching
Reb8thVA : 5/1/2015 8:43 pm : link
This draft is that we fans base our knowledge of what is a value pick and what isn't on the multitude of mock drafts that circulate before the draft and then the draft happens blowing all those ideas about value out of the water. That Morse pick was case in point.
