If La'el Collins doesn't get drafted, and then gets cleared of any wrongdoing, and we would like to pursue him. Do you think it helps having a few of his LSU buddies on the giants, like OBJ and RR?
or he would have been drafted -- the police investigating this obviously think there is something going on -- the nil must have warned all teams off of him -- there's no way he doesn't get drafted otherwise

My post from the other thread:
I think the whole investigation immediately dropped him from a 1st round pick to at least a 5th round pick, just because of the unknowns surrounding the case. But I think him and his agent compounded the issue by saying he would refuse to sign if he were selected on the 3rd day. By making that statement, they essentially elevated the risk associated with drafting him to 100%.
The fact that he won't be draft eligible any longer and unable to re-enter in 2016 is dootie icing on the shit cake. The whole situation has condemned him to being a UDFA.
I wouldn't be surprised if he actually isn't involved in this at all, just a victim of extremely bad luck and timing. I don't think it has anything to do with him being connected to a murder.
Just my guess.

Aspano - that is a possible conclusion as well -- but I think someone would have taken a flier on him if that were true -- the fact that he was completely blackballed suggests that there is more to this than meets the eye.

Perhaps - but I think teams may have taken a flier on him in Round 5 or later because of the risk involved, but then his agent came out and said they wouldn't sign a contract if drafted. Thus, no point in taking him since the pick itself would then be a 100% bust...
It says a lot about their character that they haven't killed anybody yet
