As in past years, rather than have a billion threads on who we want the Giants to sign and who we think the Giants should sign, we have started a UDFA thread that tracks actual signings.
For this thread, post the cited sources so we can track who they sign. We should start hearing stuff leak out on twitter and other news sources within a few minutes to hours after the draft.
As in the past, start your googling/twittering.

Lions 1st Round Pick - ( New Window )
They know he's gone. Its a running joke from earlier in the day
As of right now, we need bodies at safety for sure.
I still think we'll be picking up some veteran safety that gets cut in camp due to age / salary.
And David Irving
Jerry Reese expects 60-65 players to be at Giants rookie mini-camp next weekend. Currently 5 open spots on 90 for UDFA + plenty of tryouts.
Kurtis Drummond and Cody Prewitt
Phillip Drummond?
I think Behre or Taylor will be starting. Hell we might go 3 safety look with Behre, Taylor and Collins. I think fans perspective about the safety position is different than the organization.

@Mr_A1Hunt
Officially A #Giant ! I Swea I'mma Work Sooooo Hard! " Go Big Blue Goooo" @Giants !!!
LaCosse
Me and some other folks think we see something more in this kid, and that he can play in the NFL. If we're wrong, you've still got a great camp-body.
The way the Giants usually end up decimated at one position, and with the pounding that RB's take, I REALLY WANT THIS KID!
4.38
6.71 3 cone
All purpose back. Can run, catch and was Purdue's main returner
SHEET! must be the weather!
Link - ( New Window )
LOL!
To the Cowboys (shocking, right?)
On second thought, maybe the Chargers would be willing to trade once they realize he can only run on ice and snow. I know a 5th round safety that they need!
Congrats to our guy LB #ColeFarrand on signing with the @Giants! #Local #NewYork #FutureStar
WEAKNESSES Lacks NFL athleticism. Struggles to protect against cut blocks and stay on his feet. Marginal instincts and looks lost at times against spread attacks. Cannot stay with running backs out of the backfield and is below average in pass coverage in general. Too slow to track outside runs and plays with poor angles.
DRAFT PROJECTION Undrafted
BOTTOM LINE Not instinctive or athletic. Can't hang his hat on coverage ability or run-stuffing acumen. He's an inside linebacker with limited range who must prove he can be a special-teams monster to make it.
Does nothing well but there he is doing something, and he tries hard. Not good vs the run or pass but a steady tackler...lol

Eskridge to the Jets. Hackett to the Buccaneers.
So only Kurtis Drummond is left from the FS that I like :'(
Quality, not quantity!
And Sean Hickey signs with the Saints

Giants will have 87 rostered names once draft is done. But I'm not sure if Troy Kropog , who was placed on PUP counts.
Sources: #Calgary #Dinos OL Sean McEwen has accepted a mini-camp invite from the #Giants.
That's not even UDFA. He still has to earn a contract to get to training camp.
Good point. Forgot about that. If I'm a prospect I rather take a UFDA contract than just be an invitee to a rookie mini-camp.
OK, I laughed. That was funny, supportive of the pick or not.

But it is accurate. Giants actually don't have much room for UDFAs. I think they had to cut some guys for the draft.
Congrats to my man @JustinCurrie33 signing with the NY Giants!! Looks like I have a new favorite team. Good luck brotha!
On the other hand, it would explain s the Giants' third-day problems if they keep trying to go after guys who are already off the board.
Picturing 5th round:
Marc Ross: "We're taking Shaq Thompson."
NFL official: "Shaq Thompson? He was drafted already, Marc. Not available."
Marc Ross: "I knew that! I meant that other Thompson, you know, um, er... um... oh, yeah, Mykkele Thompson. Yeah, that's the ticket. Mykkele Thompson."
Well, we have 5 so far:
LaCosse
Hunt
Farrand
Currie

A lot of these invitees are a heads up nod to local schools.
good call. Sy had him as his 6th rated LB:
6 Cole Farrand Maryland 62/231 78
Upside Pro Comparison: Kiko Alonso/PHI
Strong Points: Wiry-strong frame with easy bend and mobility. Shows light feet with an explosive lower half. Can change direction with ease and will reach his top speed quickly. Smart player that reads the action. Consistently puts himself in position post-snap to impact the play. Can be slippery to blockers with his combination of bend-ability and quickness. Violent tackler. Delivers a strong jolt to the ball carrier, will snap helmets back. Easy mover in coverage, can flip his hips and react to the passers eyes.
Weak Points: Body control isnt always there. His mind moves faster than his body. Will over-pursue and lose track of backside pursuit responsibilities. Speed to the sidelines is sub-average. Gets too hands-on in coverage. Struggles to break free from blockers that get their hands inside. Gives up too much ground against straight ahead blockers.
Summary: Fourth year senior and three year starter. Led the Terps in tackles two of the past three years. Farrand is an overlooked but fully capable linebacker with the tools, skills, and toughness to be an NFL starter. He is smart and instinctive before and after the snap. He pursues like his hair is on fire and finishes his tackles as if the ball carrier just kicked his puppy. Farrand is a three down player that may lack some top end speed, but has more than enough to factor in any kind of scheme in almost any kind of linebacker role. He will out produce many linebackers that are drafted ahead of him.
*So every year there is a linebacker or two that I am MUCH higher on than everyone else. This year, its Farrand. He wasnt invited to the combine or the Senior Bowl and a lot of people I respect say he may not get drafted. It hasnt deterred me from having a 2nd round grade on him. Farrand is a fun player to watch, the motor never turns off and he can fly all over the field. I like LBs that are constantly around the action. Farrand is rarely found away from the ball at the end of a play, he is a natural read and react defender. Athletically he has good size and put together a very impressive Pro Day performance. He is a much more athletic and more physical version of what NYG has in Herzlich. He is going to out-produce several guys drafted ahead of him.

Invite to Giants rookie mini-camp as tryout for Richmond OL Jacob Ruby. You want size? He's 6-7, 315.
So Richmond OL is not signed, but invited.
I believe this says Univeristy of Montreal LB Byron Archambault has a mini-camp tryout. Anyone read French? .
It reads pretty funny the other way.
So, Giants have a Canadian center (sorry, centre) and three Canadian OLs, one Canadian LB coming in for tryouts. All they need is a goalie.

or Levon Helm.
Gil Brandt thought he would get drafted - ( New Window )
"Huskies defensive lineman B.J. McBryde, who garnered a lot
of attention at UConn's Pro Day in March, was not selected but he sounded like he went No. 1 after signing a free agent contract with the Philadelphia Eagles.
They actually called me during the seventh [and final] round with another handful of teams," McBryde said. "I'm just so thankful for this opportunity. Philly was the only team I wanted to sign with. It didn't matter if I got drafted or not. I'm ready to work, man. I like their defense...."
Do all NFL teams play by the same set of rules? Do we lose out on signing players because we contacting them too late?
Like the Maryland LB signing very much. Also happy another RB was signed.n further competition on OL depth is also great.
The 125th pick was Buck Allen, to the Eagles. The Raiders picked J. Feliciano at 128. Were you looking at the actual draft, or somebody's mock?
Ht: 6-2 Wt: 215 40: 4.63 Year: 4Sr
Bio: Three-year starter who led Western Michigan with 105 tackles as a senior after posting a career-best 113 the prior year.
Pos: Tough, run-defending safety best making plays up the field. Aggressive, displays a burst of closing speed and works hard to get involved in the action. Squares and wraps up ball carriers.
Neg: Tough, run-defending safety best making plays up the field. Aggressive, displays a burst of closing speed and works hard to get involved in the action. Squares and wraps up ball carriers.
Analysis: Curry has the size and style to be used as a traditional strong safety and comes with a special-teams mentality.

The scouting report repeats the strength also as a negative. Poor editing.......
Could compete for playing time in camp and pre-season. Maybe a surprise for the PS.

Yes. He looks pretty damn explosive. The potential, is definitely there. And if all he has to do is add a few pounds, that's not a problem at all.
Depending on how they look in preseason, both Hunt and Donnelly seem like possible candidates for the Practice Squad
Jacobs and Bradshaw weren't all that proficient in picking up the blitz when they first entered the league, imo..I expect(hope) Andre Williams to be better at it this year with his rookie season under his belt
True, but iirc, he's Tiki's height and perhaps 5-7 pounds lighter before Tiki built himself up, no?
Gotcha
I would review any evaluation of Maryland players with the context that the coaching staff stinks at player development and the strength & conditioning program has taken a nose dive since Fridge left and Edsall took over.
Eric, I agree. He has some big playmaking ability in him.
Do you think that under the MacAdoo system the pass blocking might be a little bit less of a negative? Still a knock on him for sure, but I would love to see what this guy can do in the screen game. (provide they can execute one)
Farrand had 19 tackles against Indiana and was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week. He had 17 tackles against eventual national champion Ohio State and 18 against Michigan State.
As a junior, Farrand was an All-Atlantic Coast Conference honorable mention. He played in the East-West Shrine all-star game after this season and was a three-time all-conference academic honoree.
Quote:
he can somehow become somewhat respectable as a pass protector, he has some Darren Sproles in him.

Oops, hadn't seen Eric's Sproles allusion
I agree, should make for an interesting preseason.
Eric, I actually agree and wasn't clear on what I meant. I think Maryland players actually have upside because the coaching is poor, so they haven't peaked as players. The talent is there, the staff doesn't get nearly the most out of it. Take Deon Long, a JUCO AA who basically gave up because the QB and offensive scheme were so poor and ended up an UDFA.
It appears that Indy signed the top two Ivy prospects, Zach Hodges and Tyler Varga. They were widely mocked mid-to-late Day Three. The NFL seems to have wised up regarding the level of competition in the Jeff Hatch League.
He gets out front and just pulls away. Phenomenal speed and looks to have considerable toughness for his size.
