Mayweather's not a heavyweight so even if Floyd breaks it, it gets an asterisk and Marciano still has the record IMO.

the second fight instead of showing he could go toe to toe, he was beating Duran comprehensively. SRL was a better offensive fighter than Floyd, but Floyd was similarly athletic and a better defensive fighter.

He beat Leonard the first time, and Leonard fought smarter the second time. He hit and ran and it frustrated Duran that he wouldn't stand and fight. It was a smart game plan by Ray, and a rash decision by Duran that he never lived down.
