most of the draft analysts gave the Giants a B average for the draft. The Bleacher Report gave the Giants an F?! I don't really get that one, perhaps Pat Train could shed some light, since that grade is way out of line with what most others have thought.
- Flowers as a LT or RT with ability to play LT for a long time
- Thompson as a FS, liked his versatility
- Davis as a 4th or 5th WR, comparing him to David Tyree/Jason Avant - big guy with ability to catch passes in the middle of the field
- Hart as a G, liked his winning pedigree
Also said he really liked Collins' winning pedigree, leadership ability. Mentioned specifically that he was a guy Spags like who fit in his system.
"We think Victor is going to come back 100%, he's coming along great."
This is the key of the entire interview. Reese has always been one to be reserved about our players injuries especially off of major ones.
For him to be so optimistic they must have seen some really positive stuff from the doctors, MRI reports and/or just seeing him move and cut on the field.
This explains why the Giants didn't go WR higher in the draft
They wanted Lockett bad but I don't think that was an indictment on Cruz. Lockett in the third is strong value as he was one of the best route runners in the draft under Cooper and Agholor.
I like Lockett, but I think I like the UCLA DE better
Things workout for a reason. We would have taken Watkins or Evans over OBJ, We would have taken DGB over Nicks, Now Odi is the pick b/c Lockett went two picks earlier.
No issue with that and think if Cruz is healthy especially Odi will be the much better pick.

Reese said they had OBJ in their top ten, but not their top five. Ahead of Evans, but not Watkins.
But I'm a little surprised the Giants were as high on him as has been said, given his size and length are very un-Giant-like. Only 5'10', slender frame, short arms, and small hands. All he does is make plays.
I hope so.
And very un-Reese like to be that optimisitc.
That's a big deal. 85-90% means he has a realistic shot to play this year. That is the most bullish he's been on Cruz.

Gotta agree Joe. In fact if Cruz is healthy, there's a good chance Lockett would play about as much as Washington did last year.
Odi is also JPP insurance, much needed I might add. I'd laugh my ass off if the Giants pulled the still unsigned Franchise Tag offer from JPP.
In this offense, with OBJ drawing double coverage, V. Cruz would be open quite a bit in the slot. Cruz won't start but he'll play a lot.
We really won't know until the games begin in camp and we see him run "all out" in a game.
We have a shot at having a really nice receiving corps.
