Veteran safety

Blueblooded808 : 5/4/2015 3:44 pm
I think we are going to pick up a veteran safety after some cuts take place.i think M.Thompson goes to p.s.I see Collins and a veteran starting with the hopes Taylor or Berhe eventually show enough to unseat the vet.We need "some" nfl experience back there. With Wynn,Moore,Ayers and OO maybe trade someone for a safety that wouldn't have been a June 1st cut.I think we have 1 too many DE's for this roster, tho not sure what value teams have on our players.
Nope.

Isn't that who

Josh Gordy is? 59 games, 11 starts. Are we getting someone much better than that? If a player was much better than that why would their team be getting rid of them.
I think its much more likely,

they see what they've got in Taylor (who can never stay healthy) or the rookie or one of the corner to safety converts (Brown and Bennett)
Should be

Brown and Jackson
Jeremy Miles

is still out there, I believe
Don't see the CB conversions

Brown is 5'11" 190 and Jackson 6" 192. Not the usual S size wise. Might as well stick with Gordy who's no bigger but at least it's his position. They only need one more after Collins, Berhe and Taylor.

Gordy has played a lot more corner than safety in his career, and should be listed as a CB on the depth chart. Maybe he's playing some safety for us, but we aren't exactly super deep at corner either. Those 11 starts were at corner not at safety.

Jeromy Miles would be a perfect signing.
I think Bennett has enough size to play FS,

Chandler Fenner is the most obvious choice since he has experience there, is the biggest, and is already a good run defender from his college days.

I guess they could bring in another vet but personally I see them rolling with what they have. Just my opinion.

Maybe a team has too many talented safeties but are lacking a pass rusher.we seem to have too many pass rushers and maybe a swap of players could be worked out.i don't like josh Gordy but hopefully I'm wrong
The Giants may grab a vet safety

but, they certainly aren't trading any if their D line.
has it occured to any of y'all

that the Giants may play corners at safety and safeties are corners (Collins even played linebacker for Alabama on some plays) depending on the match-ups both on the field and in Spags head. It seems we've drafted players who can play multiple positions so why are we so stuck on giving them clear roles?

If spags gets creative the secondary could show a lot of different looks to offenses this year.
Where's Everson Walls when you need him?

What a conversion that was.
Jeromy Miles makes perfect sense right now
