Some offensive linemen actually improve with some years on them, if healthy (Sean Andrews and damned if I can remember the geezer tackle the Giants signed ~12 years ago, thought to be way over the hill, and he gave us a very, very serviceable season). Their technique and experience can make up for a bunch of years.
Bothe is an eastern US guy; maybe Oakland just didn't sit right. As arc said, I didn't see his play last season with the Raiders, so maybe he has slipped more than the chronological year or two that have passed, but definitely worth looking into.

Reynolds is a bit of a straw man. He will face a fight just to hang on as the backup center, and will only make it if neither Jones nor any of the potential position-switchers (e.g. Herman) step up. Center isn't even Boothe's best position, and the Giants have plenty of backup guards.
Guy did everything ever asked of him. Played every position on the line and at times was better than the starter. For vet min he would be a fine backup.
Where do you come up with that shit? Did you follow the Giants during his time here? His last year may not have been all that good, but he was a valuable, versatile OL who was no small contributor to our last SB season..
except for you know shutting down potential future hall of famer vince wilfork in the super bowl. he was not larry allen but he held his own and then some. when he became the starting centre for baas the running game not coincidentally exploded.

...but his play degraded in 2013. Can't imagine he played any better if last year if Oakland just cut him.
Not sure how he played last year and though I doubt it, perhaps he's out of gas..But iirc, the Raiders just drafted a few OL, have a new HC and Boothe's salary might have been too high at this point..

He'll be 32 in July..For the vet minimum to adequately back-up all 5 positions, I'd do it if he's healthy..
the original Bubble Butt OL

This I wouldn't do. Mosley looked pretty good to me last summer and he's much younger. Still potential there.

What about me? Hey, look at me! :)
(I thought your post was directed to mine as a "Hey, look at me" type of post and was wondering, wtf???
Who was the tackle EA signed as a FA just before the xx season, and he gave us good, steady line play, I think on the right side?
Whitfield?

I see what you did here

But Master Yoda I have learned so much..

the tricky part is finding one.
IF Boothe is still anywhere near what his ceiling was, I'd take it in a heartbeat IF the youngsters are just Brewer wanna-be's.
This. Boothe was decent up until his last year, when he was pretty bad.

You mean Lomas Brown from 2000?
