My Real Time Draft (for what is is worth)

irishmacmystic : 5/4/2015 5:40 pm
This will be my first posting, I have no clue whether any of the rest of you have done this, but I do a real time Giant Draft each year, and this is what I came up with. And yes I do like to pretend I have replaced Jerry Reese.

1. Ereck Flowers. After Scherff was gone, and La'el Collins basically off the board, this was probably the easiest pick since Hakeem Nicks (okay maybe I am exaggerating but it was probably between Flowers and Peat). Though Danny Shelton was tempting, we really needed to do this to get our OL back in order. Don't know what I would have done (or more importantly the Giants) if Vic Beasley had made it down to us.

2. Eric Rowe CB/S Utah. We all would have preferred Byron Jones I suppose, and as it turned out we are all pretty happy with Landon Collins in the trade up in round 2, but this guy (Rowe) is good and would have given us flexibility.

3. Paul Dawson ILB TCU. One of those guys who did not perform well in drills, but his numbers at TCU were outrageous. Can simply play football. Have no faith that Beason will stay healthy, adding Dawson to Kennard and the other off season pick ups would really have solifidied the linebacking corps.

4. Za'Darias Smith DE Kentucky. We needed to do something to help Spags on the edge, not a perfect choice but in round 4 I think he was a good value. Also considered DT Grady Jarrett, FS Adrian Amos, and TE MyCole Pruitt.

5. Tyeler Davison DT Fresno State. One of those former state wrestling champion types, non stop motor. 6-2 316 pounds extremely strong. I certainly think he could have made the roster and provided a nice young rotation if Bromley develops. Really tempted by OLB Kyle Emanuel, an FCS sensation with 19 and a half sacks last year.

6. Derron Smith FS Fresno State. Gripe is he is small, 5'10, 200, but he can play and quite simply we need to bring people in to compete for the safety slots.

7. Ben Koyack TE Notre Dame. Worth the pick here to provide competition in camp. Has potential to be a decent TE.

7. Tre McBride WR William and Mary. I went to undergrad at William and Mary and so this is one of those sentimental picks (we picked a guy from William and Mary a few years ago too and he stuck around a while). But McBride can also play, and would have had a chance to stick.

My two cents.
Solid draft

During the NFLN coverage they couldn't understand why McBride slipped

but as the draft was concluding they said that some teams had some issue with his attitude. But they never really went into it even after he was selected. Does anyone know anything about why he fell?
Is this a mock draft or did you make your selection immediately before
