The massive "Training excercise" to be conducted in 12 states, and involve special forces operators infiltraing local neighborhoods , including "Role players" as terrorists, disgruntled deranged armed vets, drug dealers, illegal aliens, "simulated" mass roundups and detentions scheduled between July 15th and Sept 15th to include special forces from all branches of the service, Marine corp, Army, State, local and federal law enforcement ,homeland security ,FEMA , FBI, CIA, DEA etc , seems to be losing support in the one sector of the Public they were sure would accept it, Texas. Increasingly local authorities are questioning whether they can opt out. It's just interesting the normal media outlets are silent.

And if anyone thinks that the Pentagon is somehow practicing to take over Texas or subjugate American citizens, they really need to stop drinking so much conspiracy koolaid.
Amid unfounded, Internet-fueled rumors that U.S. Special Operations Forces might be trying to take over parts of the southwest, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ordered Texas State Guard forces under his control to keep an eye on the U.S. military during a large upcoming training exercise.
The exercise is called Jade Helm 15.
"It is important that Texans know their safety, constitutional rights, private property rights and civil liberties will not be infringed," Abbott said in an April 28 letter to Major Gen. Gerald "Jake" Betty, commander of the guard.
Abbott ordered the guard to "monitor" the eight week-long exercise which begins in July and ends in September, across seven states. In Texas, Utah and New Mexico most of the training will take place on private land. In Arizona, Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi, much of it will take place on military installations.
Some of the concerns are fueled by Internet posting of a map said to be made up for the exercise which shows Texas in bright red and lists it as "hostile" territory. The scenario for the exercise is that U.S. special operations forces travel to another continent which includes hostile nations and work with rebel underground freedom fighters there.
The question for many is do Americans need to have their civil liberties protected from involvement by the U.S. military. U.S. military officials tell CNN they welcome the state guard working with them to coordinate the exercise operations in Texas, but that one sentence in the governor's letter is without foundation.

"Yoink!"
I mean, I can see how you think someone posting about it is nuts, because the Army and the Navy and the airforce and homeland security and special ops work with law enforcement at the state local and federal leverl all the time, right? I mean it's commonplace, no?12 state wide military exercise, never done before, violates Posse comitatus if nothing else, but hey, fuck the law, and you've got to be batshit insane to put up some info about something that's never been done in this country before, without comment. Cause it happens all the time. And I'm insane. not you.ok.

Is there something in the post you dispute? I put up a video of an army coloenel, i gave a breif description of the context of the excericise. Not sure what you're disputing, that it's taking place, that it is of the scale represented, what, actually?I made you basically said I laid out a consrpiracy theory, or something, I'm not seeing it in the OP. There isn't anything in there the armed forces or FEMA or dept of justice haven't acknowledged already. That leaves the comment about there being opposition from local communities. So, there is none, and everyone supports it, or if you don't support it there is something wrong with you? What exactly are you saying, other than saying what I posted isn't credible? That's a lone isolated town hall meeting and all the other ones are different? Or that it's peculiar to Texas?

You start a provocative thread that appears to be intended towards questioning the validity and legitimacy of a military exercise by posting a single video of townhall meeting opposed to the exercise and declaring that normal media hasn't covered this when there have actually been multiple mainstream media that covered the story and debunked your very notion (like the one I linked).
Sometimes newer exercises get developed in an attempt to meet emerging situations. No one in our military is trying to train to invade any of our towns, cities, or even states. And as terrorism remains a threat to this nation, more and more interagency/interorganization coordination need to be practiced to meet these threats. If they never coordinated like this, people would complain that our government sucks because they can't work together.
As evidenced by the reaction on this thread, people see right through your attempts at trying to start a controversy when there really isn't one. This is a muchadoaboutnothing story that only those, who want to look for conspiracies will find interesting.
WARNING: This is an article from an avowed left wing rag whose sole purpose is to distribute such lies and half truths in support of the government campaign to place the US of A under martial law and who have already entered into a conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.

The govts own exercise maps have given some people cause for concern. The fact they labeled the conservative states as hostile and the liberal states as friendly, and how friendly or hostile each state is based on how liberal or conservative they are IRL is certainly a coincidence, I'm sure.
The military generally trains for the type of operations and in the type of environment they expect to operate in. The argument is made that were they training for an overseas deployment, they would use someplace Like Ft Irwin, where they simulate entire foreign cities. It's not likely training for overseas deployments would involve FEMA, state and local law enforcement.Say whatever you like but if you think this is an exercise simulating anything other than a deployment of these forces and these agencies on US soil you're jerking yourselves off.Pump away.

Just based on that map, your first paragraph is wrong. AZ is solidly Republican while NM is relatively split, but trends Democratic recently. Also, you must have just ignored the insurgent pocket in southern CA. Nice try though.
As an aside, this might be one of the dumbest "controversies" to get headlines in the non-crazy people media in a long time.

Do you really think that a bunch of 18-25yr old soldiers and marines willingly "take over" red states, just because...well, becuase Obama! I mean, we all know that infantry in the armed forces have always been historically liberal hippie types...
That's just so horribly stupid. Can you provide me with your credentials as far as knowing where oversea deployment training "should" be taking place? Obviously you know much more about how it should be done than command does.

I wonder if there's any area overseas that we're currently having 'issues' with that resembles the SW United states climate?
Naahhh, must be planning a takeover.
We sort of turned this thread into an entertaining joke thread to spare you the fact that we're laughing at you and your conspiracy mindset, but alas, you want to actually get laughed at.
Nothing that is going on with this upcoming exercise has anything to do with martial law, no matter if the map says an area is a "red" state. The ability to separate the make belief exercise scenario material from the legitimate real life material (i.e. smoking gun map that you think you found) separates the sophomoric thinkers from critical thinkers. Guess which group you fall into.
But I have to thank you for the entertainment today. So thanks, brah.
According to Vox (and they describe is concisely and well):
Related to some of the conspiracy theorizing is that hostile territory is colored in red and friendly territory is in blue. In military exercises it's convention to label the hostile force the red team; this convention, by coincidence, lines up with the post-2000 convention of labeling Republican-held states as red and Democratic-held ones as blue, and that's helped fan the flames of paranoia about President Obama trying to occupy Texas. Even Chuck Norris is worried.

I know Great White Power is the bigger target, but why this piece of crap still gets to post is a good question.
Then, when challenged, he cites the Posse Comitatus Act (incorrectly, in that Posse Comitatus forbids usage of federal armed forces as law enforcement in a domestic capacity, while Jade Helm is a training exercise, not a law enforcement operation).
And then he links the map and makes outlandish, specious arguments based on color coding and claims that he is clued in while everyone else is crazy for not seeing things his way.
Perfect Alex Jones-style bullshit.
The best part? When this shit comes and goes without incident (and I guarantee you it will), these assholes will never own up to having been completely nuts. They never do. They make crazy predictions about FEMA camps and martial law and Obama seizing and refusing to relinquish power, and when it never happens, they never admit that they were wrong.
Great White, stop watching whatever you're watching, and stop reading whatever you're reading, because it's making you a laughing stock. You're a numbskull and clearly don't have the wherewithal to differentiate between paranoid bullshit and reality. So, for the good of your sanity, confine yourself to mainstream network news programs for the foreseeable future.

For example: The Houston Ship Channel is fifty miles of back to back four miles deep on both sides of interconnected refineries and chemical plants. 14 of our 20 top refineries are there. nearly 65% of the global output of the chemicals used to purify water are made there. 55% of the global market ingredients used to make adhesives are made there. Any higher than 2% and the train derails from unstoppable speed the coal cars build up behind the locomotives. Any day the two trains do not make it...blizzard, storm, locomotive breakdown and 25 states do not have electricity the next day. What happens if there is a line break?
What happens if a dike on the Mississippi gives way anywhere south of St Louis?
What happens to food distribution if the bridges where route 40 crosses the Mississippi are bombed?
What happens if the Kansas control center for the Burlington Northern is attacked?
What if hackers can shut down the Chicago Airport for a week?
What happens if the cancer lab formulas to produce chemo are hacked and the plants must be mothballed?
What happens is Haliburton drill rig bit factory is wrecked?

If our Special Forces can take out any of the same kinds of structures elsewhere in the world could the same be done here?
Responding before or after would require coordination ( the actual thing being tested to insure intraagency coordination is better than 9/11).
All unlikely events. But far more likely to be the point of practice than any coup or rebellion.
One plane with Roundup flies down the Willamette Valley the week before harvest and asaparagus prices triple in NYC resturants? Subsequent reduction in the influx of Europeans into hotels for Christmas Shopping will leave hundreds of taxi driver children without Holiday presents and the desperate parents will be forced to strip their homes of copper pipes and ruin building material pricing throughout the following spring
Now that's a threat I want FEMA and the Green Berets working on right now.

for a grown adult, you argue like a 10 year old. If you don't get your way and are confronted with the truth, you lose your cool and throw a tantrum. When 99% of the people responding to your OP are laughing at you, you should look in the mirror to see the imbecile instead of calling everyone else that. But hey, continue with your logic. It's served you very well in all discussions you've been involved in.
Fuck you. Your a foul mouthed hypocrite and an asshole, and you start off with your insults in every thread.Every one. Your just a lying sack of shit. How about you fuck off instead, PLC pogue. I'm not going anywhere.
Awwww...did I hurt your little feelings? Once again, for a grown adult, you throw a tantrum like a child when you're told just how wrong you are. And as a proud graduate of the Marine Infantry Officer Course (hey, you didn't realize that I was an infantry officer, huh?), I'll take your angry insults with pride. But I'm not a PLC guy, so I will have to correct you on that one at least.
If I'm a racist homophobe, you're a PLC pogue.Deal with it.And yeah i knew you were infantry, schmuck. All the schmuck officers are in the infantry.I'd tell you a story, but I don't like you.I know exactly the kind of officer you are.
The kind of officer that would lead a mission to take over Albuquerque. Am I right? I know for a fact he hates sand art...
Good times.
Good times.
Yes! In fact, my squadron was part of it!
I think what merits awareness and discussion is why the media never reported on the secret government program decades ago when all those mental hospitals were closed and all the occupants were sent to Texas. And how does all this relate to Jerry Jones?
Ah...now all infantry officers as well as pogue officers schmucks? We just can't win with you, huh? Too bad not all of us could have had you as a member of our platoons to set us all straight and to warn us of the dangers all around us.
And yes, it goes without saying that based on your posting history and the reason why you were previously banned, I would definitely claim that you are a racist homophobe. But again, I didn't attend PLC and am not a pogue, so you still have those facts wrong.
By the way, I love being in your head to the point that you lose your shit whenever you address me. That really warms my heart.

Haha...I love it.
The most perfect specimen of demented outrage.
It could be abbreviated to:
"Fuck you. Your a foul mouthed hypocrite and an asshole."
just saying.
just saying.
Don't correct your older sister! You want to get slapped? Man, talk about a man with a death wish!
The misspelling adds to its pristine beauty. It's the frosting on the demented logic cake.

And yes, I agree. It's a nice touch...it gives it a certain je ne sais quoi quality to it...

Ooh! I get it now. You weren't phuquing up the phrase. It was artistic license. Very nice. My apologies.
There it is! I knew it!
YOU PHUQUING COMMIE PINKO DIRTY HIPPIE BASTARD!!!
When it's pointed out that practicing for events on American soil is a good thing (preparing for many types of terrorist events) he thanks the poster for pointing it out and then says it's something that should be talked about.
I guess that we should be talking about it to celebrate their preparation? Why else should we talk about it since evidently it isn't about marshal law or any sort of takeover? Of course I don't understand the OP unless he meant it to mock the idiots in Texas for misunderstanding the intent of the exercises? And I guess I'm still not sure why he's pointing out it's an illegal activity(incorrectly), even though it's clear that he wants us to talk about what a great job the military is doing?
So, thanks for pointing out the great job the military is doing in terms of preparedness for attacks on our infrastructure, GWG! We should all talk and celebrate that!
Werd
So there are multiple ways to get your commission as an officer. For the Marine Corps, you can go through something called a Platoon Leaders Class, which is basically summer training during your college years. As far a pogue goes, it's actually POG (People Other than Grunts), which is an insult for non-infantry types like logistics, comms, intelligence, etc that infantry usually use. Put together, he's basically making fun of non-infantry officer, who went through the summer training program.
It's rather funny that he still uses this insult since I don't fall into either categories.

GDI!
PLC = Platoon Leadership Class. It's a commissioning program for college students, which of course Ronnie didn't attend because he was an Annapolis graduate.
pogue = everyone other than infantry. Pogue = POG: Person Other than Grunt. It's a mild epithet used by grunt types about everyone who is not a grunt.
Having read Ronnie's dispatches from Iraq, worried about him, and prayed for his safe and sound return, it pisses me off to see him and all you guys insulted so, after the sacrifices you and your families have made.
I mean, seriously, fuck this guy.

Meh, you're a lib. They're only traitors if you're a conservative. It's obvious you're on their side and that's why you're deflecting/dismissing the obvious evidence.
And a bit of in-depth for you non-jarhead types from the same link:
•Infantry
•POGside
•Air Wing
Technically the Wing is still POG, but because the day to day is still vastly different than the regular POGside, it is really its own thing. For clarification (and this seems to be confusing for some people), the definition of a “Grunt” is “infantry,” and you’re not infantry unless your MOS starts with “03.” It really is that simple. Being a POG isn’t a matter of opinion, it simply means that your MOS doesn’t start with “03.”
Semantics aside, something should be abundantly clear here: there’s nothing wrong with being a POG (Person Other-than Grunt). Seriously. No one cares. The only time it’s a problem is when they either get super butt hurt about grunts not respecting them (this article) or when they make vast claims that their job is worse or that being a POG makes them inherently smarter.
The Marine Corps is a big place and has a lot of different roles to fill. Whatever it is you do, just own it. You’re a POG? Be proud to be a POG! Some POG jobs are actually pretty cool. If yours is not, just admit it. For instance (totally random example), there is literally no part about being an 1171 Water Dog that is badass, so don’t try to spin it that way, just own the fact that your job is lame as shit and that you have a small penis.
For the record, however, 5953s ARE inherently smarter than grunts, which is why we get such cushy lives!
Something Bbi missed when Ronnie and Dune were IN Afghanistan and Iraq.

Just because they were overseas once or twice or a few times, doesn't mean that they didn't become pink polo shirt with a sweater tied around their necks wearing preppies upon their return.

Ronald has pretty much been shirtless since he got back.
I once read a post war debrief of the Japanese War Department.
" we and our children went to the same schools in California. We knew you were soft and cared more about the beach and tennis than taking hard courses and doing real work.
Everything was based on America settling and compromising.
We forgot that the guys who come ashore would be from Alabama and Arkansas.
[img]As for the wing, no one really knows what the fuck goes on over there. They usually get a whole section of the base to themselves, with their own PX and barbershops, and when you occasionally see them on your side of town they’re always wearing flight suits.
No one understands them.
Little story absolutely no one will care about but which I'm telling anyway - we had a microcosm like that within the wing itself in Yuma. There was the main base.....and then, for those of us in MACS-1, there was our little home base, P-111. We worked in this little fenced-in enclosure in the middle of nowhere among the orange groves bordered by empty desert 15 minutes down the road from MCAS Yuma. It was all very mysterious for everyone outside of our squadron. Most of the main base people didn't even know where it was.
"Fuck you. Your a foul mouthed hypocrite and an asshole."
Bwaaaaaaa, it works!

Could not find any where I was at, so I ended up with egg loaf thingy and put a sort of chilied-pickled cucumber on top.
then, into the farmers market, found a lady who farms and makes all sorts of new age pickled cabbage and other vegetables, and had a shot of the juice for a dollar.
similar to kimchi but more varied, albeit a bit more on the who 'quiche eating' side.
good, though. still not satisfied. I have a feeling that this stuff is very good for the guts, sort of in a rif on the recent detox thread.

Glad that you're a fan of kimchee. It's not for everyone, but it's definitely awesome if you get a good batch. With that being said, remember that picked products aren't really fermented products, so there isn't the whole gut-benefit part to them like kimchee and other natural probiotics. Make sure if you want that gut-benefits, the veggie is in water/salt/spices instead of vinegar.

Bon Chon is good, but if you get the chance, try out Cheogajip Chicken in Annandale or Chantilly, VA (if you are near). That's some awesome fried chicken.
not hand lunch yet, the whole world of pickled vegeatbles, fermented vegetables is calling out to me.
IN NYC, so, yeah, there are many, many options.

Yes...in NYC? Shit, you should be able to get some great Korean food. If you can, go down to Flushing, a lot of great Korean food there.
I'd rather just be happy.
That's easier when you're dumb.
And even easier when you're not worried about other people and their lives. Especially when their lives have no impact on you.
Unless they're fat. Or stupid. Or think they're better than you. Or have more than you with less effort. Or started with more than you.
Nah, I'll just go back to being dumb.

This was true for the older generations. However, we're much more accepting these days. There's harmony among us yellow folks, especially with K-Pop's influence.
Don't be racist. The only thing that is understood about all Asian people is they are bad drivers.

At certain point, we turned this thread into a joke thread since it's Friday and I'm sure many of us are bored at work (hey, I'm still at work, so I needed entertainment). However, instead of laughing at himself and at the others' posts (many were funny as hell), GWG focused on one guy, who has given him the most grief in several threads. I mentioned that I've sort of gotten into his head since almost all of his posts have been insults directed at me, and insults that aren't even all that creative.
While the most prudent thing would be to just delete this thread since he's the one, who created it, GWG chooses to leave it up and come back into it from time to time to throw out insults. I'm not sure what the point of leaving it up is since the thread obviously didn't go the way he envisioned it would go.
And I'm sure he will respond that he doesn't give a damn what others think about his views, threads, posts, and himself, but I would beg to differ since it's a natural tendency to want validation of one's views if the individual deemed it important enough to not only start a thread but also to spend time arguing against total strangers.
At certain point, the OP of this thread no longer really matters. All that matters for many of us is to use this thread as a source of entertainment at the expense of not only the thread starter but other posters on it as well.
It's almost the weekend, some just need to take a deep breath and just laugh at themselves. I know that I'm laughing at myself.

What do you know about anything? You're just part of this crummy military that's kowtowing to the libs. Now the military back in the 80s...they were the true heroes.
You fool! That's what they're counting on!
Having said that, Risky Whiskey is on a whole 'nother level...
Sad to see that there's still people who think this way at this point. I don't normally say stuff like this but I wouldn't mind smacking this clown dead centre on his forehead with the blunt end of my Cold Steel kukri. That oughta clear some of the cobwebs out. If it didn't split his skull, of course.
Its like the guy looking for elephants on Broadway, who then concludes that the reason he didn't find any was because they realized that he was on alert for their appearance.
Two obvious questions for the conspiracists that I haven't seen asked, or at least not enough:
1)Do you really think that a bunch of high-level, high-quality American military men would take part in an invasion of an American state?
2)Do you have any idea how insulting it is, to the members of the American military that you usually claim are heroes, to consider that as even possible?
Fucking idiots.

WE know the military is our best available organization able to solve logistical problems and execute complex operations and respond rapidly. This is useful in earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, etc. As many foreign nations have learned in humanitarian crisis.
We know that government interagency communications and coordination is often a problem in many nations and was a big problem pre 9\11 and Katrina.
We know that exercises are expensive and this one is on our soil so that saves us a few as compared to what it could have cost.
History would tell us that totalitarian inclined elites masked as communist or as fascists lose track of the boundaries between the military and the police.
we might consider that all all all institutions under any form of government are at their loosest when they have had years of budget and upward mobility and now have to find missions to keep them.
The last times huge buildups were at there wind down phase...we had the inner commitment to balance and rule of law to do things like fire McArthur and try Calley. ( just glib toss off examples for I cannot think of good analogs right now).
For me this is much less of a concern than one more accidental or careless flashpoint death during the long hot summer. This nation was permanently changed by the summers of 1965 to 1968. Right now has a similar feel after the pace and accumulation of recent unconnected "accidents" and "mistakes". As the 1960s proved...polarization is very very expensive for us all.
