it's anyone's game at this point but there should be at least 1 as coughlin has had i think 34 total since 2004.
Ben Edwards WR Richmond
Kenneth Harper RB Temple
Carlif Taylor DT Southern Connecticut
Will Tye TE Stony Brook
Justin Currie S Western Michigan
Sean Donnelly T Tulane
Cole Farrand LB Maryland
Akeem Hunt RB Purdue
Brad Harrah DE Cincinnati
Matt Lacosse TE Illinois
I Think It could either Farrand, Harper, Taylor, Tye, Lacosse, or Currie at this point.
Cole Farrand I'm also hoping can sneak in there somehow.
Also that other bigass tackle who is taller than Flowers. If they can coach him up and he can produce, it'll be nice to have some big boys who can play on the O-line depth chart.
Sorry if this is off thread discussion, but it seems this would be helpful. The UDFA are an interesting group & the lower draft picks are clearly developmental types.
agree on those three being most likely IMO.
James Butler, Chase Blackburn, Derrick Ward...
Lacosse I give the edge over Tye because the Giants signed him as a UDFA outright rather than giving him a tryout invite and signing him from there. Also is a bit taller which Tom Coughlin seems to prefer in his TE

Oh, and Rich Seubert, too.
The downside, of course, it the risk of a waiver claim. But for the Matt LaCosses, Will Tyes and Cole Ferrands of the world, that's not a huge gamble. Once they clear waivers and sign on to the PS, the risk of losing them drops considerably. That's because practice squad members can't be "claimed"; they are free agents, and can negotiate the best deal available. Other teams can offer them contracts, but the Giants can still counter.
I'm surprised that Currie is seen as having a good chance at the 53-man. He's up against five recent draft picks - Taylor, Berhe, Jackson, Collins and Thompson - for probably four spots. I guess Taylor can be counted on to get dinged in camp - if not sooner.

5 draft picks, but almost 0 experience between them. I'm not sure any of them except Collins is a lock for the team.

So Flowers, & Odi have no experience in a major conference & are in jeopardy of being cut. We need a knucklehead filter on this site
That one seems easy to me. Because at FSU, Tye had Nick O'Leary, who was in his same class, and an All-American and John Mackey Award winner, ahead of him:
"After considering entering the 2014 NFL Draft, O'Leary returned to Florida State for his senior season. During his senior season he set Florida State's record for career receptions for a tight end. He again was a finalst for the John Mackey Award, this time winning it. He was also named a consensus All-American."
Don't get me wrong. I'm rooting for the kid just as I root for every player in blue - especially the underdogs. But I doubt even the Giants expect much from him in 2015.
I don't know BBB, he makes a good story and I like his athleticism
Not trying to be a smartass, but maybe you should qualify "very good" so far as Fells is concerned?
Hunt and Currie will at the least, make the practice squad, maybe the team

Unless the injury bug strikes, I'd be floored if Justin Currie made the team. We typically go with 4 safeties...but have gone as many as 5 and as low as 3.
Collins, Berhe, Thompson are LOCKS barring injury. Taylor most likely is a lock barring injury, but as we know with him that's a big concern. Bennett Jackson has a great chance to stick at safety as well. Problem with Currie is he is strictly an in the box strong safety, which puts him behind Collins and Berhe, and maybe Taylor. He doesn't have the versatility that Thompson, Jackson, or even Josh Gordy has.
Practice squad at best unless injuries hit.
Don't believe so. We cut Ogbonnaya and Terrell Manning. We just signed Gordy about a month ago...doubt we would have cut him already.
I realize now you're thinking of Thomas Gordon, who was also cut. He was a UDFA safety out of Michigan who spent a lot of last season on the practice squard. I was talking Josh Gordy, the FA we signed about a month back. Mainly a corner but can play safety as well.
Cole Farrand, Sparta NJ, #446
Sean Donnelly, Pelham NY, #452
Will Tye, Middletown CT, #559
Carlif Taylor, New York NY, No Rank
The rankings don't mean much once you get past the third round or so, but they do give some indication of the underdog status these guys bring to OTAs. I think it's more significant that, according to Spotrac, none of them got any up-front money. That means there wasn't much competition for their services.
WHO I WOULD HAVE PICKED
Cole Farrand – LB/Maryland – 6’2/231
#6 LB/#58 overall
Here is proof that I make picks in real time, as Farrand ended up going undrafted and coincidentally picked up by NYG in the free agency period. In all honesty, I would be shocked if he didn’t make this team. He is exactly what this depth chart needs and I think he’ll be a starter down the road.
Farrand is a fiery player that is constantly playing through the whistle and trying to finish off each play with a sense of violence and power. He can read the action before and right after the snap, putting himself in position to make an impact. He is savvy when working his way through traffic towards the ball carrier. Rarely does he get locked on to and his late, explosive gear makes him a tough catch for linemen. Farrand has the sideline to sideline range and he is a guy that makes tackles on the full speed move with finishing power. I wasn’t expecting big time workout numbers but he finished with times that rival some of the best athletes at the position in the entire draft. I think this kid has it all.
Robinson is reminding me of Sinorice Moss and others like him who stuck around holding a roster spot that could have been used by someone who can actually contribute..
I watched Edwards' highlights and he does look like Welker 2.0 in them, but at this point he's coming off a torn ACL and I wonder about the level of competition he was playing. Some of the highlights were against New Hampshire, U of Albany, etc. But would be great to see him succeed.
That doesn't mean he can't be replaced or that the selection wasn't a disappointment, but the idea that he does nothing is inaccurate.
