All I'm going to say is this...
Having watched and re-watched the last two races, look at his ears. As he's in the home stretch barreling down, even in the Derby when Vic asked him to run, his ears were up. A horse will pin his ears back when he's at max effort. American Pharoah just won the first two legs and as far as my eye can tell, had a lot left in the tank, especially yesterday.
He's going to have to beat several well rested top horses that skipped the Preakness. Longest race of his life against a fresh field is tough.

Ignore the times. All races are different. His derby was the best in 11 year as for as Beyer ratings. His preakness performance was of ease on a mud track. I've been following the sport closely since 2000 and zenyatta and a fleet Alex were the two best horse I've seen. This horse can be better. He's going to be 1-2. No value to bet him. But he will be deserving faborite.

Yes, but again he won with ease because he had no competition. There were only 2 other horses worth a damn in the race: Firing Line and Dortmund. Firing Line broke badly and was pulled up. Dortmund ran OK for awhile but tired in the slop. A.P. Is a mudder and his light competition was not.
He's going to face a much tougher field in the Belmont and he's not likely to benefit from conditions again. I'm not saying he won't win. I'm saying yesterday's win didn't prove much either way.

I didnt buy into Firing Line in this past race. You watch his past perfromances, he needs 6 weeks to run his best, and he has only won twice in his career. Good horse, dont get me wrong, but he wasnt beating Pharaoh that day.
They were afraid the rain was soaking the cotton and going to create a problem for him but it obviously didn't.
